This story has been framed in the media about his giant son............... the son is 6ft 2in and Gary is 5ft 7in

I’m taller than him. Although I’m a giant intellectually, a given, 6’3 isn’t a giant either. Just want to get it out there, he’s not a giant.

Technically he, and you, are. The definition of the word means - amongst other things - something that is very tall, and compared to the average male UK height of 5’ 9” you are in the top 5% of the population for height, Hagrid.

People are obsessed with height for some reason. Normally your height and features are determined by your parents and there are formulae that can calculate the range a child should expect to grow to. The further towards the extremities of the expected range a child grows to the more likely they have inherited a mutated gene carried by one of the parents. Not necessarily a good thing.

or Mr Barlow should be wracking his brains trying to remember the height and build of the postman and milkman around the time of conception lol

My family originated in the western Highlands and all were tall. I have aunts who are 5’10 and all the men are tall. Back in the day Glasgow average height was 5’6”. So we are all called Big Magic, etc. I’m not obsessed by height, but it does have it’s advantages. That’s just the way it is. Throw in a glorious mane and you’re ahead of the game. :)
