No idea if true and in any case, not sure they'd do a deal with us. But if it is and they would, is he worth a punt at the right price? Even though we generally need to be looking to reduce the average age of the squad and it isn't an objective to be served by acquiring a 29-year-old CB, I reckon I could be tempted.

the onl;y reason chelsea would be looking to sell is if he doesnt fir Moaninhos system, which is far more defensive and shields the CBs so I'd think he would be worse off in our system

we should be looking to whoever Chelsea target though. Varane keeps cropping up. Now Varane+Mangala is CB sorted for 10 years

Nailed on. Mangala has looked an absolute natural in our defensive system so far.

I think he's fucking excellent.

Brilliant defender and very experienced.

If available in summer I'd be all over him.

MDM could then leave. He could do the MDM 'role'.

Chelsea are very unlikely to sell Cahill, they're as badly off or worse than we are for HG players.
