Some fantastic comments ITT if you care to look. From the early posts saying they would prefer *gulp* Phil Beckenbaur to one from bwfcchick saying "this will seal our fate" to some saying he is better than Luiz ... well, don't know about that but £50M for that dopey twat was too much to ever turn down.

Genuine question. If it was the last 10 minutes of the season and you just had to hang on to what you had in the match to win the title. Would you rather it was Gary Cahill at centre half or Luiz? Luiz may be a much more talented footballer but I think defensively he makes Cahill look like Baresi.

I wanted him a few years ago from Bolton for a £7m, instead we've spent around £50m on Mangala, Nastasic and Demichelis without really finding a dependable option to partner Kompany. But obviously, English players are over priced/not good enough for us.....

Mourinho probably wants more pace in his defence, and obviously Terry isn't going to be phased out so Cahill will be sacrificed to accommodate it. He'd tick a lot of boxes for us, but I'd rather go for a player with the potential to be an even better player over a longer period, John Stones.

Doesn't convince me at all and some of our EDS lads can do that job. As for Cahill if Chelsea are looking to sell we should avoid.

just because he is English doesn't mean he won't struggle in our system. He was ripped to shreds under AVBs high line and you saw how Tottenham made him look
