Gary Linekers NOTW On City's Win

Evidense of Linker finally losing the plot

Okay I know its Tribal Tripe but this is from his NOW column he's blowing smoke out of his arse about it being a mistake sacking Hughes. What an absolute tool this guy going onto say that it was a Chelsea off day not our superior players and tactics that won the game.

Tottenham legend Gary Lineker is convinced Manchester City will regret sacking Mark Hughes.

Lineker says victory over Chelsea proves nothing for Roberto Mancini's City.

He wrote in his column for the News of the World: "They have got to be in the same position at the end of the season for Mancini to keep his job.

"They were on the edge of the top four when Mark Hughes was sacked and if they had kept him they probably would have made it.

"Sparky had started to edge out the bad guys, the team was coming together and they had lost only one League game. It was ludicrous.

"The new manager came in, you had the usual spurt, then it petered out towards the end.

"They made their big mistake with the loss of Hughes. He is a very sensible head and commands a certain amount of respect with his presence.

"He wasn't taking any nonsense from a few of the players and was easing them out.

"He was getting the players he wanted. I don't think he would have gone into the summer and bought another six, seven, eight players.

"Mark would probably have spotted just a couple of areas where they needed to strengthen. That might have prevented some of the problems they now have with this huge squad.

"Yesterday's win against Chelsea - a very disappointing Chelsea, I have to say - certainly takes some of the pressure off Mancini."

You just gotta start concuring with Collymore in that he and the rest of the jolly golfers from match of the day really have lost any sort of creditability in football matters.

You just gotta laugh at this shit lauding up the Welsh wizzards tactical nouse and eye for players. Of course Gary thats why we were buying shit like Crocky and other premiership misfits for top dollar, and that Mancini he's clueless bringing in these world class players from around globe such as Yaya Toure and Balloteli.

Re: Evidense of Linker finally losing the plot

Evidense? Evidently dense? Yeah he is. I agree.

If you read it he says nothing whatsoever about whether he thinks Mancini is a good manager - and more to the point whether he's as good as (or better than) Hughes.

I wish Hughes all the best, but another poster made the point about Fulhams run of draws ... and we all remember how frustrating that can be.

The only place City were going under Hughes was mid-table, our defence at the times was leaking at least two goals a game, contrast that with the team now...

That's the reason Mr. Hughes was sacked Lineker you fool.

Forza Mancini!

Listen Gary you jug-eared crisp eating apology for a presenter how many league matches have Fulham played and how many have they drawn, the answer if you didn't know is played 6 drawn 5 sound familiar?

Oh and we know you are still sulking because we beat your beloved Leicester City in the 1969 Cup Final, isn't it about time you got over it?

There might be more in this than you might have imagined.

He writes in his autobiography that he was about 8 years old at the time and went to wembley with his Dad. He cried on the train all the way home after that game. The fact that he has never liked us since is not surprising.

Since I've loathed Spuds since 1981, I can sort of understand him not getting over it.

If we had been battered by Chelsea then I would of thought that the article was a fookin joke anyway, due to the fact that M Hughes was long gone- but what makes it even more stupid was the fact we had just beaten the best team in the prem and looked like a team that are on the verge of something very big and he is still banging on about a manager who I had nearly forgot we once had !
