True in itself, but context is everything. As is timing.
In this context, it is clearly most likely a purely political stance, and a deliberate demonstration of one's 'side'. Probably even fishing or offering out support for that 'cause'.
You can't both argue that the timing of his rant was bad (it was), or even going as far as some are, in claiming he blames white men for the attack (which is an agenda in itself as he clearly doesn't), and then argue that calling him a wanker now is completely unrelated. Nor that putting up flags in this manner and as part of this this wave isn't a toxic show of racism/biggotry. That would be highly duplicitous.
