A terrible loss. RIP Gary Speed.

Those looking to be judgemental or scurrilous in this thread should be embarrassed.

Still can't believe it, all over the papers this morning. Why he did it when he seemed to be in fine form, and have absolutely everything to live for, I guess we'll never know. It's not something we'll ever understand either, I mean unfortunately these things happen, and people aren't always as they seem, the mind is never easy to understand, I mean you can be sorounded by people but still feel entirely alone, the world can seem like a very lonely place to be, and it's just devastaing.

None of this is easy to understand, but what is easy to see is how much grief has come flooding at us since the news broke. He seemed to have touched a lot of people in his life. I'm speechless still, atleast he's found peace.

Poor lad, looked devastated, fair play to him for playing, proud to say he was one of ours.

It really is a powerful picture. Shay for me is in the same vein as Gary. Seems universally liked and a consumate pro, never slagging anyone off or piping up. Just going out and playing. Likewise, very proud that he wore City blue. And another example of just what Gary meant to people. Just speechless.

Just thought I'd mention that the FAW have an online condolence book if anyone would like to post.

I had a lot of respect for the guy before this. But to commit suicide when you have a wife and child, as well as a loving family and friends is unbelievably selfish.

Stupid sentiment best kept to yourself.
No. The sentiment is probably correct and possibly known through bitter experience.

It is the wrong "forum" (and I don't mean bluemoon) to discuss it though.

no it ain't, you'd have to be a mind reader to be able to justify that comment.

but if you want to interpret a horribly tragic incident like this in that manner then go ahead, that's your prerogative.

I heard this news as I started to drive to Liverpool for the match yesterday. It genuinely devastated me to the point I had to pull over and shed a tear. I have no connection to Gary Speed so I can't explain my grief other than my love for football and what the game means. Growing up in the 90's Speed was always a player I wanted us to sign. My link to him may be tenuous but I am so sad for his family and friends. He was a genuine professional and his loss is a tragedy for football. R.I.P.

Boycott the first trashy shite newspaper that try's to tarnish Gary speeds reputation,(the tap blog) all fair minded football fans together show these tabloid wankers,That no one is interested in their trash and don't buy a newspaper that wants to ruin his reputation,

If any football fan had a shred of decency, they would have boycotted The Sun years ago, but they haven't. The tabloid press rules this country. We've got the press we deserve. We're kunts....oh, and the 'k' is deliberate.
