It's certainly a bit weird why it's so cheap, been with British Gas since i moved in in June and got a fixed rate deal which runs till 2010 (Might explain why it's cheaper than most others). House is only 12 years old and the boiler is only a few years old so maybe more effecient, thats all i can think of anyway but i'm not complaining!

I'm with British Gas and have got my bill fixed till 2011.

There is always that of course, to be honest i don't put the heating on that much as i tend to put the fire on most of the time which is electric. I'd be fucked if my bill cost the same as yours just has

Wont happen again, I have told the wife the heating never comes on and if we get cold we make love!!

Funny you should mention utility bills because Npower are going to get the wrath of my tongue in the morning, i am on duel gas and electric and they have put my bill up to 150 a month for the two!! I am the type who likes to be warm but way over the top. I have done a search and npower for what i use reckon to a new customer they could do both for 80 pound a month, so something is wrong somewhere!!!



God i hate these companies.

I know how you feel Claire ..... i get a dual power bill off this particular company too and i don't like the way my bills have crept up at all , i'm frightened to death of putting the heating on at all ...... i might have a look elsewhere.

Most of the time this christmas i've spent in my car , or in bed just tryin to keep warm .

I seem to get a bill every two minutes of these people , and you feel helpless to complain as you rarely get anywhere if you do.

I'm absolutely dreadin' my christmas bills comin' in!

The Government has warned fuel companies to lower thir prices , but it seems that few have taken any notice .... and Npower seem to up their prices at will!

BBC Watchdog has been covering meter readings recently. Companies are reading some of them wrongly, charging at Imperial when you have a metric meter, swapping night rates for day rates etc. Anyway, link to site is below.

Thank heavens! A kindred spirit. All these wimps who sit around with their heating on all day then moaning when the bill cracks the hallway tiles.
Being cold is all in the mind unless you're over 60. Wasteful weak Britain.
