Glad my kids are working and at uniThat's not even that big unfortunately
Seems an absolute rip off. My apartment in Zurich has 5 beds, all electric no gas, charged me £280 for last quarter and we charge our electric car on that as well. Something wrong going on in the UK.Just had meter readings back.
Since 31st March until today, we have used £260 in gas/electric.
This works out at £7 a day for 2 adults +2 kids in a semi.
Is this really high or is this just what it's costing now?
What? I’m not having that. We are world leaders don’t you know? The only nation that has ever voted to apply trade sanctions to itself. We have an elite Government that are working tirelessly to deliver wealth toSeems an absolute rip off. Not a bad deal. I pay £200 to EDF but their offer for me was £280.I’m with EDF pay £230 a month on variable rate at the moment, they are offering a fixed £250 for two years deal, which doesn’t seem that much more looking at the prices bearing in mind prices are supposed to go up another 40% in October.
Nothing ever gets cheaper in this world. They will never bring prices down after thisNot a bad deal. I pay £200 to EDF but their offer for me was £280.
There’s a sneaking suspicion here that they know something we don’t - why are they offering a deal at 250 or 280 when they can probably charge 300-350 in October?
Whilst we all accept we’ll be paying big money for the next 12 months, I suppose it boils down to do we think there will be an easing of prices in the 12 months after that?
Something will have to be done as it’ll send inflation through the roof.Nothing ever gets cheaper in this world. They will never bring prices down after this
There is loads that can be done. For one, Ofgen could put a stop to them putting up prices more than they need to, which they are clearly are, but they won't. Secondly, the govt can tell these energy giants that sadly there won't be a huge shareholder windfall because they are taxing it and giving it back to the customers, but they won't do that either because they privatised it all.Something will have to be done as it’ll send inflation through the roof.
A lot of people are going to struggle this winter.

The government don't care about people struggling in the winter either. They don't care about people full stop, they are about to put a 100k people in the civil service out of work to save on pension commitments. The same govt workers who worked through the pandemic while folk were furloughed
