Mine is off at end of March until October as a rule anyway. Active bloke, keep warm like. In the winter it's on always though. I'm lucky and lots aren't, pensioners who are at home all day will suffer this and that isn't right.Turned the CH off completely last week, that isn't coming back on until at least October.
Its a global issue, I get that. But our privatised twats are milking it to death. If only we were in a continent wide group as Europe that could collectively try and counter it eh?You do wonder where all this ends, everything is going up in price and wages cant keep up.
I can see a mental health bombshell exploding in a few months,

Happening all over the world. Not a lot a collective would really do about it. We have the power in this country to put a stop to it. Either by the drastic nationalisation or a tax on profits. Though taxing profit would still mean prices going up as they would still want their cake. Its a global issue, I get that. But our privatised twats are milking it to death. Didn’t France have a 5% rise in their bills, whereas we’re at about 150% or whatever it is.Happening all over the world. Not a lot a collective would really do about it. I see millions more shoved onto the bread line. What with interest rates going up, the rise in NI payments and food prices rising daily there really is no way out. Belt tightening is all fine and dandy but if people are not shopping, going out for entertainment etc etc then there will be job losses a plenty. This then leads to more money being paid out by the government in benefits. It's a vicious circle as wages will not increase to break the circle.
Weird how your main problem is mental health though, It's indicative of the society we live in I suppose. Might just have to go back to just dealing with it like our parents did.
Dbl jumpers, dbl socks, dbl pants etc etcOnce you’ve put it back on and seen your bills, it’ll be off permanently.
Works if you have internal heat to retain. Hopefully you and your family all can do that.Dbl jumpers, dbl socks, dbl pants etc etc
Correct and this is the issue. On the very rare occasion I sit down and do fuck all for a day it does get cold, even nowWorks if you have internal heat to retain. Hopefully you and your fami all can do that.
Most pensioners won’t be able to though.
I wouldn't put any money on it. According to the Nestle CEO in 2005 "water isn't a public right", so pretty sure that the elite will believe power and heat aren't.You would think that something has got to give soon. There's not many more basic rights than an entitlement to power and heat at a fair and reasonable price.
You're right, it's even come to my dad who spent years getting us to wear extra clothes, not putting the heating on unless it was actually snowing, and now at 83 he really feels it, so that core temperature he's lost that.Works if you have internal heat to retain. Hopefully you and your family all can do that.

Get a multi-fuel stove, one you can burn smokeless coal in, MILES cheaper mate.Wood burner being fitted in mine. I'm not entertaining these daft prices. I know good wood costs and I will happily pay it, but as its such a small house it will heat most of it. I'm not entertaining these ludicrous prices, they can fuck right off. I've always wanted one anyway and it gave me the kick up the hoop to do some overtime and buy one. The prices won't come down, ever. Eventually, they may say they won't put them up when the cap review comes around and make out like they are doing us all a favour. Load of shit
You can’t.Probably be cheaper to fly to Tenerife and stay there for 6 months.
I’m just acutely aware of it at the moment as we had my Grandma live with us until last month. She could never get warm unless in direct sunlight. She’s 94.You're right, it's even come to my dad who spent years getting us to wear extra clothes, not putting the heating on unless it was actually snowing, and now at 83 he really feels it, so that core temperature he's lost that.
Bummer!You can’t.
You can only go for 90 days then not return anywhere in the EU for a further 90 days.
