Gas & Electricity

Name me one Scottish company that owns the oil/ gas fields...
They are all multinational organisations using finance and investment on a global scale. The main oil companies where BP, Shell. You name me one English one. Or do you confuse British with English? Sure looks that way.

Personal care has shot up along with everything else so it has been a bummer we didnt get the universal credit money during covid , hopefully we get a decent amount coming in , it will all help, as always i need to see the exact details as people think everyone on benefits is on uc

Best wishes to you both
Triple lock coming back next year on state pensions too so should be a big increase if inflation stays high. It’s the level in Sept that determines next years rise. Can’t see it going down too much before then.

We will all have to pay these payments back just like furlough payments, which is along with the war is going to take years before we get back on the front foot.

I have confirmed with my paperwork that as i am on national insurance contribution esa i wont get the 650 , at some point they changed me from income based esa to the above one without telling me , going to call them tomorrow to see if there is anything i can do about it , changing back or something , gutted

Wondering if anyone can help me shed some light on my recent bill.

I’m with British Gas, about £300 in credit.

Since April 10th, when they accepted my end of March reading due to high volume (sent 29th March) and they debited me for the usage period so I’d start afresh with the new price increase, I’ve used 15kw of gas and I can see the total of £65 of electricity since April.

Totalling this up, I make it at around £120ish including standing charges. I have, in that time, paid £100 in DD. They have just taken £170 off my credit after submitting this last meter reading, so I’m racking my brains trying to figure out how this totals about £270 for the period!?

I realise this is relatively low, however I am not often home - stay elsewhere in the week when working, and try and get out throughout the days on my days off.

Everything is going up. Its fucking madness.
We, as a global society (yep I'm going back to basics here) should be living on fuck all by now.
We're regressing globally, despite all our achievements as a race.
Greed, power, corruption, war. That's all we do. Fight amongst ourselves, pathetic how we've evolved really.

They are using direct debits as a bank.
Are you in any credit?
If so get it back off them.

You want some?

I've lived in my humble abode for a few decades now, and it's always amazed me how useless the algorithm Eon use to calculate my energy consumption is.

£25 a month one year, £120 a month the next year, £50 a month after that then back to some stupid amount.

I have no idea how their wandering calculations of my energy consumption works, but I've always thought the people designing the programmes that decide the monthly payments are shit at their job

I've been using a steady level of electricity all my life since I moved here decades ago, and it's been a constant source of intrigue to me how they can't get the balance right.

Holy shit Martin Lewis reporting prices up 65% in October! Then another 1% in January, who the fuck can afford this, it had to stop but how? What the hell can be done, nationalisation I don’t know but something needs doing.
Can you refuse to pay direct debit and just get sent a monthly bill? Pay for why you use rather than these companies having our money in their hands.
