Fucking madness all this
The standing charge includes a payment of around £100 per anum to a central fund to pay the debts of energy companies that went bust.Without doubt "standing charges" are a licence to print money.
This time last year we was paying 31.5P a day combined whereas now we are paying 55.4p combined, and that's been discounted by 14.5p a day as a loyalty bonus.
So basically paying £201.65 for not using a thing.
Anyone on a fixed rate mortgage is in for a shock when it ends that’s for sure.
Why? Private companies, I don’t see their profits when they make them but have to pay for it when they fuck up, capitalism at its finest, get them nationalisedThe standing charge includes a payment of around £100 per anum to a central fund to pay the debts of energy companies that went bust.

MILLIONS of households are paying the price for failed energy suppliers. Every household will have to fork out £100 to pay for the 28 energy firms that have collapsed since last September. The Nati…www.thesun.co.uk
We do it in the ninja and it is ready in 40 minutes so it saves money and if I do steaks or sausages or pork loins it's on the bbq as my mate can acquire the gas bottles off site. Saves electricity and smelling the house outI bet cooking a chicken is almost as expensive as the chicken itself now!
They tried to put mine up by £180 a month the sly cunts.
Managed to talk to them and it’s “only” gone up £67 a month on this new 5 yr fixed rate they offered.
He means his deal has come to an end so his rate automatically goes up so he’s paying extra interest. He’s now fixed on a new deal which will have a lower interest rate.Being thick … but the more you pay per month .. the quicker the house gets paid off ?
Just done it was 300 kWh, so roughly 10kwh a day, bearing in mind I have a an electric shower everyday, out tv is on for around 10 hours a day, me and the wife are at home all the time. So in winter apart from lights which we use sparingly it won’t go up much until Xmas lights come on, but even now that’s going to be limited this year.Just how many (Elec) kWh a month do people use here?

I’m going to give that a go this week. Offered me 3.75% but new customers can get 2.99%. Unless they give me that then I’m off elsewhere. They tried to put mine up by £180 a month the sly cunts.

That's the whole idea, inflate the price of electricity to give the same profit and return as oil.I would love to know where this is going, another 10 years time and new cars will be pretty much fully electric, given the money the Government makes in tax on Fuel they are going to have a gaping hole to fill. I guess electric costs are going to go through the roof.
I just got 2.79% on a LTV less than 75% through a mortgage broker maybe worth looking into cost £600 but over the 5 years will save me a lot more than £600 and saves all the hassleI’m going to give that a go this week.
