Nope..... could do with it though, gone from £500 in credit in October to £350 in debit after paying £200 a month plus gov help!

I need to get the fuck away from EDF whose smart meter doesn’t work, their twice yearly billing is a joke and who simply refuse to lower my direct debit from £250 a month despite the price decreases and me being nearly £600 in fucking credit.
If you're in credit by nearly £600 just cancel your direct debit for 2 or 3 months

Monthly bill in at £120. Far more manageable now. Feel for those that fixed though.

Unfortunately the candle bill of a Scouser.
I can recall the power cuts back in the mid-70s. My "Genius" boss ordered a container load of candles from France. The lorry was checked at Dover and all the candles were coloured, incurring a customs tax as decorations. Only white candles were exempt. Boss-man not as smart as he thought.

Octopus mate if I refer you we both get £50 as well. Fucked EDF off months ago agree with everything you say about them.

Martin lewis says this time of yr you should only have one or two months built up in credit , get onto them about a refund

with interest rates climbing high they will love all these credits.....it's a scandal
I agree it is a scandal, they should refund without the customer asking for it and jumping through hoops

I am with edf as well and the twice a year billing is stupid as you never know where you are and how much you are using and having to try and work it out as you go along

Missed this the other week, worlds largest battery storage given permission on outskirts of manchester.

Luckily these batteries never catch fire….

That, and they pay in advance for fuel contracts to lock in prices for them - so if all their DD customers are a few quid in credit it gives them a nice cash float to play with. Once again the 'free market' creates a cartel rather than a competition.

My deal runs out at the end of August so I'll then be in the real world. Any tips from you eagle eyed cherries? Do I sit back and fo nothing for a while or jump in and lock into another 2/3 year deal? ?

Why these people are still seeking funding is beyond me. This is by far one of the best medium term energy storage options and there are shit loads of mine shafts in the north of england and east midlands where they could install them and the grid connection infrastructure is also there as its where most of the coal fired power stations were.

Batteries are ok for short term but not environmentally friendly and green Hydrogen for much longer term but isnt very energy efficient, but this to me hits the sweet spot.

Highview have started work at Trafford energy park so I guess they’ve got the funding stream in place for that project.

They should have made it 1.21GW.
