Gate for Hull

City 38246
Boro 31268
Stoke 26779

So we still had the highest attendance but nobody mentions the other clubs grounds not being full.....funny that. Stoke who haven't won anything since 1972 and playing Sheffield Wednesday who brought a huge following still couldn't sell out.For Boro that was a great crowd considering the employment problem there but they were playing Everton and they took a good following too. Agenda......what agenda??

Soooo they reckon we should be selling out a 55K seater stadium for a LC QF against Hull do they?
Highest crowd for 4 years at a QF and only because Arsenal V City and Chelsea v Liverpool and United v Palace were the draw in 2011 - Utd having the lowest att of the 3! Disnt make a big deal out of that though did they the dicks!

Errr OKayyyy then!

He will have been for the semi final. If I remember correctly I had about 4,500 points at the time but I was a cup scheme member. The first day sales were for people with over 6,000 points (regardless of whether they were a cup scheme member or not) and any cup scheme member. I got seats on the first day. For the final loyalty points had first priority over the cup scheme, which was the last time they did. I managed to get a ticket for that on the third day if I remember correctly. Not surprisingly the club subsequently made the cup scheme the priority to get people to join. Also not surprisingly cup attendances went up!

I've just looked it up and you're right. All Cup Scheme members were eligible on day one of sales for the semi which was 6000 points. So my mate with hardly any points jumped the queue just by joining the scheme the week before. For the final, all cup scheme holders became eligible at the 3500 points level, so they kind of jumped half way up the queue.

To me it's fair that the Cup Scheme holders get prioity. I am one, but i've got plenty of points, so it's not really any skin off my nose.

we got less for the semi v liverpool in 2011
and v west ham in 2014 than last night

You missing the point £18 might or might not have been a fair price but on top of the ticket price for the Southampton game 3 days earlier it works out a dear do for families of couples

Yes i agree, but the families know this when getting the season ticket. I agree it could be too expensive for them on top of everything but i think the club do enough to try to keep that expense down and shouldn't be expected to price tickets lower than they already are.

Just had two rags in the office give me crap about empty seats - just said back - did you see we got the highest quarter final crowd in 4 years last night. 4th semi final in this competition in 7 years, we might even be able to fill it when we get Messi and Pep and Pogpa.

Silence.

I would'nt give sky the snot from my nose and i would'nt wipe my arse with the rag mirror paper. Find an alternative to watch sport on. i have and it costs me £1-70 per week that includes everything you get on sky, movies, sports (all) BT (all) box office etc.

I was there and you are correct, it wasn`t brilliant.
38000 is a good crowd for a midweek league cup tie, some blues need to stop falling for this fuckin empty searts shite, the attendance will be the biggest of all four quarter finals,to put things into perspective i remember playing Juventus in UEFA cup in the late 70's and guess what the crowd was yep 38 000.

When I saw the stadium from 115, my feeling was they should have again closed one of the two level 3 areas and focused on filling the rest of the ground. Other than one deserted tier, it would have looked much better then I think with more down on level 1 (which was horribly empty in parts). Empty seats aren't a huge deal for many fans, but if it was my company/brand I would be very conscious of it if, like City, I was trying to appeal to fans from around the globe who might be attracted to what they see as the romantic side of football (English fan culture, etc.).

Given that our wonderful City Council and their brilliant planning have decided to dig up all the major roads in and around Manchester whilst other major metrolink and motorway work is going on - there should be a moratorium on attendence self flagilation threads.
Nothern power house my arse whilst such incomprehensible decisions are being made. Unless you're a cyclist that is, then half of every road will soon be yours.
And to add to the "fun" the M602 was closed last night at 9pm for roadworks ! Just bloody fantastic and added 40 mins to my journey home. Grrrrrr

Correct, I there that night as well. I would be surprised if there was 38,000 in the stadium last night though. I know people in the cup scheme who did not go, so I imagine that was replicated elsewhere.

Our average crowd in the league this season 53,920 ish. Good up crowds.

Thought it was great last night.

Loved the new chairs in 93.20 as well.

So £58 a ticket is ok I am not talking about families with season tickets but the ones who don't have them the fans will vote with there feet and stay away

It is only 58 pounds for big games and we have sold out all of them.
