Sleep Well Sam you will never be forgotten.

Reading some of the posts and realising that some of you have only met Sam via the forum but can tell what a top bloke he was. Can't write enough words to sum up what a top bloke he was but a lot of your posts have done that and are spot on.
Just want to say a massive thanks for cheering me up and the true respect to Sam that has been shown by everyone. I feel honoured to have been one of his mates. I think the idea of a banner is great and fitting tribute and something I and a few mates will be donating too to make sure it happens. He would have buzzed off it.
(I will own up to being a die hard red and one who had regular and intense banter with Sam over the years but we used had mutual respect for each others love of our teams. The only thing that cheered me up on the last day of the season was knowing that my mate had won the league and that he was a true fan who had followed city through thick and thin and not just one of the good time fans. Sam will be wetting his sides that I know have a strong respect for city fans after reading this thread and the re-naming to The Celllar and even turned to registering to a city forum. )
Eeeh u bugger u, welling up here again...But i have also just heard of another young man who i knew briefly has passed away. Lifes cruel cruel cruel at times!1ofGSCmates said:Hi to everyone who has posted on this thread. I was thinking the same thing.
I have let my buttons be pushed far too easily on here of late, due to family worries and let it spill onto here.
Truth be known, i would be kind of lost without BM and you lot, my one real connection back to Manchester and City.
So sad that it has taken such a tragic loss for me to realise that.
No doubt i will get 'GAY" thrown at me, but that's the way it is. Take care, Blues.

I logged in BM on Tuesday night (to talk about the Season Review dvd) saw the picture in the corner, then noticed the Cellar where Off-Topic had been, so decided to click. When I saw the top thread I had a terrible feeling. I'd been aware that GSC had been 'MIA' for a few days but wasn't prepared for what I saw. I sat numb for a few hours reading page after page of posts and threads about GSC. From people like myself who had never encountered him in 'the real world', ones who had, those who were previously banned and even people who were out of the country on their hols.
I eventually went to bed but couldn't sleep so out came Tapatalk and now there were posts coming from around the world as well.
The next day was similar, people logging in as usual, not expecting the awful news that was to hit them. Now we were finding out about Sam not GSC while his friends and family were logging in here to do vice versa. Later in the day the heartfelt tribute from Sams mate Noel had me in tears in work and I had to log off and take a walk. I finally mustered the courage to pay my respects last night.
What stands out during everything that followed this tragic event is the overwhelming goodness from everyone on here. Ric, Damocles, deniro and the other mods reacted superbly in such a short space of time following the news. Sams photo, removing the bans, renaming The Cellar and the posts from the mods were a touch of class.
A lot of the regulars have shown introspection in their posts and all posts, whether from regulars or guests registering because of this have been poignant, funny and sad in equal measure. The ideas put forward like the collection (will have a rummage for my paypal account tomorrow) and banner show a genuine group effort in a time of sadness.
We all come to Bluemoon because of MCFC whether we're fans or not. How we end up off the beaten track and down here in the Off Topic Cellar I don't know but I do know for us all to feel what we've been feeling and do what we've been doing since GSC/Sam's passing shows there must be a reason.
In other words for a bunch of cunts, you're alright.
