I was trying to explain to a mate of mine the other night, that this channel is the culmination of the defund the BBC, anti - woke, pro capitalist, pro free speech stuff, anti immigrant propaganda that has been spewed from Tufton Street think tanks for the last 20 years.
His reply was yeah but Corbyn. That is how successfully he has been groomed. And essentially that is what has happened. It has been happening since Reagan deregulated TV in the USA during his Presidency which allowed the rise of Fox News. It has just been copied here by the our own version of American Neo-Cons.
I have no problem with new news stations, i do think people should think about the issues that having a propaganda station brings though.
This comes down to one basic premise, when I was a kid i was taught how to answer a question, then I was taught to question the answer. Now kids are only taught to answer the question, that leaves people open to propaganda because they have not learnt the necessary skills to question it and that is dangerous for democracy.
I know I will be able to watch this channel and laugh at it, others may not. That should concern you.
