They never learn

I see that the guy has committed the usual error of treating Muslims as if they are a monolithic entity who - like the Borg from Star Trek - all think and act the same way.

In actuality, UK Muslims like Dame Sara Khan (who was highly critical of the treatment of the Batley teacher), Ziauddin Sardar and Ed Husain all uphold free speech and would oppose the introduction of blasphemy laws. In fact, Husain says so explicitly in his bestselling book The House of Islam: A Global History.

And as Sardar explains in a book he wrote about the Qur’an, Muslims are expected to stoically endure criticism (the Arabic term for this is ‘sabr’).

Am also reminded of the fact that many years ago, an Imam of one of Britain’s mosques offered Salman Rushdie sanctuary in his own home after Khomeini issued his fatwa.

As for ‘Muhammad’ being a popular name, that may be so. But if this is meant to arouse fears of a Great Replacement, the demographics behind that conspiracy theory were debunked years ago by John Bowen in a brief publication of his called Blaming Islam.
