GB News

Regardless of the content, the set-up is absolutely shit and completely incompatible with trying to digest the news.

at every level it just doesn’t work.

the only possible credibility it has is when Andrew Neil gets a interview with a top name politician, everything else is utter garbage

Neil would have been better off getting a podcast.

Or maybe just accepting that the BBC productions he featured in were so polished because of the license fee he despises. Maybe he now sees its purpose and what its fit for - production values, attracting guests and quality content are the first things that should come to his mind.

This channel is most definitely not one which aligns with my own personal world view, that’s for sure. I am however fully and wholeheartedly of the hope that it succeeds and is a commercial success.

We need a variety of content in our news and current affairs, the more views expressed the better, in as many varied outlets as possible. It is one of a democracy’s key strengths - That views from every part of the political spectrum are catered for.

You are either for free speech and the inalienable right of people to hold whatever political viewpoint they so desire or you’re against it.

I am for it. Always have been, always will be.

I do not understand the rush to condemn those who hold a different viewpoint to oneself, to the point of ‘cancelling’ it. That is not the behaviour of a democrat.

I will often deliberately watch a political discussion or programme on the tv or radio that I know I will disagree with as I am of the opinion that it is a good idea to listen to those who you disagree with. It broadens the mind and challenges your own beliefs. Never a bad thing.

Only tolerating echo chambers is a sign of a weak mind and a weak intellect.

Fair points but this channel will end up cancelling itself due to it’s own incompetence and if the viewing figures don’t stack up. I suspect those of certain political persuasions get more of their “news” from the likes of YouTube

" REVEALED ; The true reason why GB News ratings have been smashed and why Andrew Neil has been SHAMED into standing down !"

Did they really think there is a market for this shit?

Hilarious.

The far right window lickers will love shit like this as it reinforces there conspiracy addled heads.

I have no zero problem with GB news if they want to report news, i have zero problem if the news is reported with a slant, but when it is absolute shite like this designed to inflame already volatile people then it is shameful

You sound like a rag. 'But...but...we have 650 million fans'.

Another piss-poor attempt at trolling from you.

The Daily Mail is the most widely viewed 'news' outlet in the UK. However, it's main demographic is going to become more and more irrelevant, as it's filled with middle-aged and above, gammon bellends, with fuck all else to do but be outraged at 'the foreigns' and 'the gays' and 'the cancel culture snowflakes'.

Pretty much like Fox News.
Facts don't care for your feelings cock, you can scream and footstamp all you like, it doesn't change them, and if saying that CNN ratings have plummeted prompts 'Trolling' accusations, then it's time get that cancel culture you're so fond of working. Plus, you obviously know Jack Shit about the populace, and its habits, for the last 40 odd years, Labour via Blair, has held office for 13 of them.
So until the UK starts breeding millions of Peter Pans, another appraisal
of demographics is required.

Really getting to the bottom of issues that British people care about there. Dedicating an entire section to an obscure policy suggestion from California that was actually defeated a month before this segment was filmed.

I agree in terms of current affairs programmes. However, I think news itself should make every effort to stay as far away from opinions as it can. Tell us what happened, not what you think about it or what we should think about it.

The other issue is that current affairs programmes that don't make an effort to include a diverse range of voices end up being the echo chamber that they claim to be preventing. The example of 'Woke Watch' posted earlier was just two men who agree with each other (one of whom is the other one's boss) giving the same opinion. What is there to learn from that? I wonder if they made any effort at all, given that they care so much about the issue, to invite anyone who disagrees with them onto the programme? Most likely not, since the guest was just another presenter from GB News. It's genuinely a (slightly) more polished version of two blokes in the pub moaning about something they've read in the newspaper. Even The Wright Stuff used to have a better selection of different viewpoints than them.
