GCHQ Need New Code Breakers

I fancy a change in career. Where's Damocles? I'm sure he'll have some idea of how to solve this!

This message destroyed my morning.

Anyway, whoever before said hex was correct, but they are actually machine instructions in hex. There's also some missing instructions which you can find in the header of the PNG image. Running these instructions points you to this page:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/15b436de1f9107f3778aad525e5d0b20.js" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/15b436de ... e5d0b20.js</a>

Which after much fucking about points you at:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/da75370fe15c4148bd4ceec861fbdaa5.exe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/da75370f ... fbdaa5.exe</a>

This is an exe that has to be ran through CygWin and is some sort of keygen that expects a license key and a hostname that I haven't quite figured out yet.

EDIT: Actually, it wants a hostname which will give you a license key.

looks like it's in hexadecimal as nothing higher than FF. So probably have to change it to decimal and see where that leads

There you go http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/soyoudidit.asp

Well I doubt I'd do it in the allotted time. I'd have to look up hexadecimal first and learn what that is.
Hex is a number system based on 16 (instead of the 10 we normally use). So the digits are the same and a is 11, b 12, c 13 etc.

Firstly, that program means nothing as even if you run it you still have to extract the string and you do that from a stack trace. The string it gives is the JavaScript link I posted earlier.

Secondly, it will extremely nice of you to post a solution that you don't understand whilst posting the real answer offhandedly so that those of us who actually bothered to try the code now have absolutely no reason to continue.

Cheers for that
