People don't like ideology. We are a deeply pragmatic nation - the English sense of humour and satire and all that is all the proof anyone should need that we know there's more than one side to an argument. We've also got a sense of history, and we're not so much programmed against raw socialism as waiting for it's answer to the charges levelled at it when it last went out of fashion.
Don't like ideology?? If the exit poll is right we've just elected the most right-wing government in living memory.

Going to book an appointment at the doctors tomorrow, might as well get the use from the NHS while it is still there.
I usually can't get to see mine for love nor money these days. 3 great GP's have left in 3 years, 1 retiree, 1 to be a home-dad, 1 to practise privately part time. Left with a little Tory ice-queen, whose lack of a bedside manner is only compensated by her kinky boots and jeans look.

Truth is, this and particularly the 2017 election were OPEN GOALS for the opposition. Labour lied to themselves by not admitting what a monumental effort it took to not beat a deeply unpopular and totally uninspirational Tory party in 2017. Instead the interested parties span it as a fair loss against the odds.

We always had to leave to get back to some normality.
I said it earlier to the missus, everyone is bored to fucking death of Brexit dominating every bit of news, certainly how it’s been for the last 12 months. People like me who have little interest in politics just want the fucking thing done and dusted, whatever the future may hold.
