Not seen much discussion about it here, and I haven't heard May questioned on what she intends to replace it with, or indeed how, but the Conservative Party manifesto contains a pledge to abolish the Fixed-term Parliaments Act.

I expect the system before it of calling an election anytime within 5 years without parliamemtry consent.
or maybe it's the first step to abolishing elections and having a permament dictatorial governmentas she has a bit of the adam susan about her.
