Looks like a Conservative win is inevitable tomorrow, although the pollsters have got quite a few things wrong recently so we can but hope.

Either way, it's been a far more dignified and effective campaign from Corbyn than May, which seemed unlikely when the election was called. The left are in better shape than they have been for a few years, and the swingeing Tory cuts are coming under greater scrutiny. May's reputation has been badly damaged, and it wouldn't be a great surprise to see a leadership challenge before long.

Think the best we can hope for is that the young come out and vote in significant numbers, and the Conservatives don't get the greatly increased majority that they were expecting just a few weeks ago.
Pretty much agree with everything you've posted there, mate.

I'm appalled at the services provided by some of the outsourced businesses to be fair. The cleaning services in the new Southmead hospital here in Bristol are a bloody disgrace. But they should have their feet held to the fire, with penalty clauses for underperformance so we get the services for free if they fuck up. They get away with murder because no-one gives a toss.

its a private company and they would just declare bankruptcy and not provide any service

I don't have any problem with increased privatisation of services so long as it's quality service and free at the point of delivery. What's your problem with that exactly? When you do your knee in and the NHS says you need a ligament op and we're going to send you the Spire hospital up the road where they have great facilities and skills, what on earth is your problem?

in the long run it will be more expensive

Do you work in any sort of commercial organisation? Are you aware that it is commonplace to outsource all sorts of services very successfully indeed. And that usually, the business concerned does actually do some sort of due diligence on the organisation they are engaging. I see no reason why the NHS must forever be incompetent at outsourcing. Hmmmm, then again, maybe you have a point...

The fact remains, there's a strong correlation between the lower paid and Labour voting intention, is there not. Haven't see too many Corbyn rallies in Ascot.

No-one wants an unfair society. But that does not mean we have to accept only your definition of what "fair" is. How much money you should steal (that's how I view it) off someone in taxation in order to give it to someone else, is a subjective judgement, not an objective one.

Everyone would agree 0% taxation was pretty unfair. Ditto 100%. The question is what is a fair balance inbetween. I get a bit pissed off to be honest with this lazy stereotypical Labour commentary that all Tories are evil, heartless bastards. (I am not saying you are suggesting it, but many on here have done.)

Most of my mates and work colleagues over the years have been Tories and I don't know an evil heartless bastard amongst any of them.

It is not morally superior to want to take more of someone's money off them.

No one wants an unfair society but taxation is theft.
so how do have a fair society without taxation?

oh you dont mean that because you contradict that statement in the next paragraph, where you say there is a fair level of taxation, which cant be true if taxation is theft.

To be be fair I dont think all tories are evil. I think they are wrong. I think the outcome of their policies are in some cases evil. I think some tories are evil and know the outcome of their policies will be evil. I think the underlying Tory world view is that the poor are poor because they deserve to be and the rich are rich because they deserve to be.

Is it morally superior to want to keep more of your money by paying lower taxes, leading to death and suffering within this country?
