General / Mental Health Support Thread

Went out late Monday night picking litter for three hours, an absolutely filthy street near Ashton police station - near where my secondary school West End once was) the residents will have been gobsmacked when they saw it this morning.
Unfortunately I didn't feel that much better afterwards.
My brother came round this morning and I said "I have to kill myself it's impossible to live like this" he said "you've been saying this for months".
Actually saying this to him made me feel calmer for some reason. I've felt calmer than usual today but the fear and doubt are always there.
The community mental health team rang and said they'd accompany me to the daily social at the walk in centre if I wished which I agreed to.

At least your brother is taking an interest, I think you said “he was being treated for depression” it’s always good to have contact with him.

I don’t know how to help you P I’m just glad your trying to help yourself by keeping in contact with us and the walk in centre.

I almost went to the walk in centre today but couldn't manage it in the end.
Instead , I'm rotting in psychological torment at home, once again.
I HAVE to go if things are to improve there is no doubt about that.

How did you respond to your brother saying that?
I can't remember
I'm just not thinking straight, my depression and isolation are so extreme that I can barely concentrate enough to hold a coherent conversation.

I think he is suffering depression himself but he has a partner his own house and financial security and it's certainly nothing like mine.

On you tube there are a lots of videos on “depression and anxiety” you might want to check a couple out when you feel a bit better and lots of other interesting subjects beside music. I think you have severe depression and anxiety though so feeling you can’t cope and confused is part of the illness. P

The ones i watch most are about "electro convulsive therapy" "depressive psychosis" and "the effects of long term chronic social isolation".

I'll probably go litter picking soon.
I've got a gig tomorrow thankfully.

Just had the bailiff's call...thousands I owe. I can't deal with it...they can all fuck right off. I've got no money...take it out on my face if you wish. I'm way too tired to deal with anything these days. I'm rotting away at home due to long covid. I can still walk...just.
That’s an empathy ‘like’ from me. Fucking horrendous.

Many years ago I developed post-viral fatigue after a bout of glandular fever. It took me seven years to recover completely. During that time I got a glimpse of what Long Covid and myalgic encephalomyelitis sufferers go through.

I asked AI what could be done to help someone in your situation. Here are some extracts from the reply:

‘Debt charities are used to supporting people with health‑related financial crises and may be able take over much of the administrative burden.’

‘StepChange confirms that:

• Bailiffs must send a notice of enforcement before visiting.
• A debt adviser can request an extension to the notice period.
• Entering Breathing Space gives up to 60 days of protection from enforcement.

This is why contacting a debt charity quickly is crucial.’

Thanks, bud. I'm on to the helplines already. I've had some decent advice, and I'm not so worried now.
