This is Levy at his best. Tried to put on a front that they don’t need to sell to strengthen, but no one took the bait and over paid... and now they’ve released the names of who they need to shift in order to buy the players they need because the stadium costs have literally gone through the roof and they have no spare cash.

He’s left it to the last week of the window, so they’re going to end up in a flap with their new signings having had no preseason and probably overpaying.

Really think we missed a trick by not trying to get him here. His style is tailor made for the premier league and he would have filled Fernandinho's role perfectly in the short term while also being able to play further forward against tough opponents together with Fernandinho.

There is no way we are getting Veratti, as much as I would love to see him here, PSG will not sell him.
We don't seem to seriously looking at Thiago or anyone else for that matter so it looks like Zinchenko will be our world class backup to Fernandinho who is going to have to play out another full season at 33 as the only specialist at his position instead of starting to pass the baton.

At this point I'd just about say Dembele might be worth a shout. You don't need to be a great tackler to play the no.6 role in peps system, it's more about controlling the ball and controlling the tempo of the match. Dembele is 31 but he would still be a lot stronger in that role than I can ever imagine Zinchenko being. On the other hand, we'd have the deal with Levy who'd probably demand £80M quid and half his stadium paid off in exchange.
So maybe pass...
