General transfer rumours

No, we have a 20% sell on fee and can match any bid but don't see why we would do that and also the lad needs to want to accept our contract offer.

If we did, it would be because he is a rare club trained player that could in the not too distant future actually play for the club.

Which is why the match any bid clause was included. If he stays a year or two at Southampton and he might be ready, not much to lose there. If he does look like going to Chelsea, the club have a decision to make whether effectively let him go or pay to take him back and try fit him in. Assuming as you say he'd consider it. If not, there's always the sell on money.

I think we have a straight buy back rather than match bid, we'd only have to meet that valuation over whatever fucked up number Chelsea throw down

You may be right. The font that is Talksport reports that we have a straight £40m buy back so we don’t have to match the chavs if they offer over this sum. With a reported interest in Felix they really are in a mess.

I’m pretty confident given the mathematics of all our years of previous dealings that our undisclosed buyback will be considerably less than that. Usually double what we received plus 50%. So that would be nearer £30m than £40m

Just reinforces we’re doing well with the academy. If we’ve already banked the reported £10.5m and are now looking at the situation. What do the club do?

Ive no doubt he’s a talent but he’s only played a dozen or so games. I’ve no idea what his potential is?

£10.5m (the reported initial fee with no add-ons), plus say 20% of the speculated £50m means the club could bank total c£20m. If we bring him back we’ve potentially got an asset worth c£10m nett but how do we fit him into the side?

I trust the club to do the right thing and speculate that we won’t buy him back.

The massive positive for me is that the club now have a bulging dossier to show to the best potential young talent. Sign for us, maybe make it with us or we find another pathway to guide you to riches and glory.

What a time to be a blue. Wish I could find all those shitsters who took a pop at our academy investment in the early days. It’s a model for any investor to cream over, adding many, many millions to the value of the asset and helping us stick it to FFP.

Newcastle and Chelsea are after Moukoko from Dortmund - 6 goals and 3 assists, just turned 18 and scored an absolute bagful in the youth leagues. To be honest, I wouldn't be opposed to City showing interest if the deal was good. He's more of a fast-dribbler, have a shot player, but good to have options & Pep could mould him.
