General transfer rumours

City had 100 points this year without Yaya, so why do we need to replace a player that we didnt use ?
There were times when we could have done with an extra body in that area. Also as Ferno is getting older and could have a long World Cup one assumes we need a like for like.

Didn't use him because he's not good enough anymore. Did you not see how knackered they were playing twice a week?
I think he would have played more if we had not won so many games with ease and teams could not get the ball off us. Yaya would have made more substitute appearances if we had been under the cosh more often which never really happened. Also a major reason he stayed on was to bolster experience within the camp as a lot of the lads had never won a league in England before.

We were very lucky to not lose Fernandinho, too. We had to rely on his hugely this season. So Yaya needs replacing by another holding midfielder.

When Fernandinho was not available, Gundogan took his place and we ended up winning against Arsenal & Chelsea.

I understand that we need someone to replace Fernandinho or Gundogan but not Yaya.

Looks likely Inter will sell Joao Mario and possibly Icardi too, along with being bankrolled by new owners they have money to spend.

Realistically I would expect Gundogan to go for at the very least £25m and we may not necessarily have to replace him. Bernardo could move inside as originally planned, Merlin will still start the majority of games and we have young Foden who will hopefully start appearing more often too. Plenty of depth there.

Think the Rags will be right up there next season with Sandro and Alderweireld in, they've got so many players on ludicrous money up front they can actually only spend their moneys on their weaknesses, unfortunately.

Sandro is over rated. I have watched Juve many times and he doesn’t stand out. Alderweireld is one of the best CBs in the league but he is 29 and coming back from a serious injury.

These two would cost £100m almost and don’t improve them too much. Players from Serie A usually struggle with the Premier league as well.

I wouldn’t be worried at all.

Totally agree, Sandro + Alderweireld and Hysaj are being talked about currently and they're all very good players but is the problem really the rags defence? They got 19 clean sheets and only conceded 28. I'm more than happy to see them spunk money on a defence that is already performing well. Yes they need replacements for old players etc in there but is it really going to help bridge the huge gap between us? I don't think so. They need to sort out their midfield one way or another, sign someone for the RW and address the fact that Mourinho seemingly doesn't understand how to set teams up offensively any more.

Exactly. The gouger’s system requires world class players that they currently lack. Lukaku was supposed to be their star forward and the most expensive striker in PL history if I’m not mistaken yet Sterling and Vardy both scored more this season. Big money was spent on Sanchez and it seems he really has declined.

The gouger is not getting the best out of his players so who ever they buy they are not likely to improve as they have massively overachieved this season. Pogba is looking like the biggest and most expensive flop in PL history. They have problems all over the place. I would be worried if they got a manager that prefers playing to parking and has a few transfer windows to rebuild and not buy only star names then I would be worried but we all know that’s not going to happen.
