According to L’Equipe, Eliaquim Mangala has told agent Jorge Mendes to find him a new club before the window closes.

He isn’t part of Guardiola’s plans, so a move makes sense for just about everyone.

Valencia have been linked but want a loan - they don’t want to pay his wages.

Why wouldn't we put in a buy back clause in every player sold or should I say young player not to mention a sell on clause

Dont know for sure but someone no doubt will. But I suspect it would lower the selling fee as your into the field of managing risk

Yeah mate,was summat I read the other day,said Mendes had held talks with them and they went well,sounded as if it was the old "loan with option to buy" scenario....could be bollocks.

Maybe wrong but dont a lot of spanish clubs add buy back option? With who we have running the club now it wouldnt suprise me if we went down this route more often.

I dunno. If the club genuinely feel he isn't going to make it, they may want to get full cash value now rather than take a punt with a buy back clause.

Why? If we are intent on selling him, then maybe the club don't believe he is going to improve to a standard we would want

Well, you are right. There are times when we sell players coz we don't think they are good enough, other times we sell them coz we don'tthink they'llget enough playing time here, and they are at the age where they need consistent game time to reach there potential.

Sometimes we use loans for this kinds of projects. But sometimes when he player is of age, he needs to feel settled. We think highly enough of him to our him on the CL squad. But when everyone is healthy he'll barely get game time.

This is the Morata conundrum. You know he'll get there, but he is not there yet. You stick a buy back in it. There is no downside to it.
