General transfer rumours

Nothing went wrong. We have the best manager in the world and are now firmly a top 5 team in the World (on paper). To get to that point we have had to make decisions that seem to some to be bad decisions financially. The other perspective though...we now have a team that can win the CL. I expect the folks running this club are quite happy with how this has worked out.
I understand your argument; we have the best manager, the best team, so it is ok. No, I don't think it ok. We made huge mistakes, especially in the cases of Mangala and Bony, we paid them huge salaries, and now we need to correct our mistake. My intention is not to criticize the past, but the fact that we have repeatedly done these types of mistakes many times, which indicate that we are not learning from our mistakes. To have a wealthy owner does not mean to be negligent in your bookkeeping and to continue to pay ridiculous wages for average players. For our business model to be successful, we need to develop appropriate methods to avoid the same in the future.

Alex Pritchard - £8million
Nabil Bentaleb - £17million (possibly)
Nacer Chadli - £13 million
Ryan Mason - £13 million
Daniel Levy could sell a cage to a Gorilla .

Made me chuckle but he does have a point. Great at selling but not the best at buying, turning a profit on some of them players is remarkable though.

Happy days
... Though I do think you've, been rather generous in vastly over estimated PJ's "projected" attendance figures somewhat :-)
I remember one FA Cup replay against Newcastle (1968 season) and I`m certain the crowd was something like 63,000.However I`ve never seen a crowd that big at Maine Road and you couldnt` have put another single person in the Kippax and I bet it touched near on 70K.
Others like Luton and Charlton spring to mind and yes maybe I was a tad generous in my over estimation.Often wondered where those original "slush" funds went. Back into the Club or White & Swales. ;) (I jest by the way, just in case I get served with a writ)

How long have you been watching City Mate?

Some things never change, Paid fortunes for the likes of Trevor Francis, Micheal Robinson & Keven Reeves, and eventually ended up flogging them off, in football terms at any rate, for car boot sale prices
You mean this an example of "the typical city"!

Hahaha. Those White & Swales shops were no bigger than your average phone box (With half as much stock) God knows how they ever managed to make a profit.
