General transfer rumours

A verbal agreement has been reached between Kalvin Phillips and Leeds for a transfer, according to TEAMtalk.

The report (11 March) claims that City will not block a departure for the England star and that a £20million fee would secure his services.
In terms of amortization I think we're at about £21m this summer (three years into a six-year contract at a £42m transfer free) so that fee seems reasonable for our books

I just don't see how Madrid would ever sell anyone of note to us. There would have to be some really niche circumstances. Theyre our European rivals. I'd sooner see Liverpool selling to us or City shipping someone off to Chels- wait...

They will have another shiny you lined up.

That's ridiculous.
We have to pay Leeds £21m for them to take him off our hands.
On reflection, that seems fair enough.

On Tuesday, reports claimed that Leeds United had a verbal agreement with City to re-sign Phillips in the upcoming summer transfer window. But that’s since been played down with Ben Jacobs revealing the truth to GIVEMESPORT.

The trusted journalist writes: “Leeds are not currently looking at a Kalvin Phillips return. The priority is to get promotion, and then assess what targets are possible.”

Jacobs then reveals that Phillips’ £150,000-a-week wages at City is the reason why a return to Leeds United is not currently possible. He adds: “Links with a sentimental Phillips return are downplayed by sources. Phillips is not looking for another loan, and Manchester City also want to find a permanent solution.

“Phillips’ age – he turns 30 this year – and more importantly wage, in excess of £150k, make it a deal Leeds can’t pull off even with promotion. There are other priorities.”

According to reports...
Ederson - Out
Orgetego - Out
Walker - Out
Silva - Out
KDB - Out
Gundo - Out
Kovačić - Out
Grealish - Out
Stones - Out

I've left off several others whom CIty would like to move.

Point being - our transfer business has failed to address the fact that numerous of our players are getting too old to compete.

And too, we haven't been ruthless enough cutting off players who aren't up to standard.

Our resultant performance this year is a huge wakeup call.

I expect a huge number of trades in the summer. And I doubt that one window will fix our problems. Massive trades will likely occur in the next summer window as well.
