He had an off year, as did the whole team really. In 20/21 he was fantastic.

I think this is a great signing, he's the kind of player who could potentially be in a title challenging or Champions League Newcastle team in 3 or 4 years if he fulfills his potential.

Those are the kind of players they really need, more than Trippier or Chris Wood (not that those 2 belong together)

Maybe just dont see him as a prolific goal scorer, interesting to see how he develops and who they get in and around him
 
As a Swede, I must say it’s very exciting to have Isak in PL. Nice rivalry with Norwegian Haaland as well although we have the better player of the two there. Still think he’ll be good for them.
 
I think Isak is a really exciting signing for Newcastle. Had an eye on him for a couple of years now and always thought he looked born for the Prem. If he can gel with the squad and they can regularly play like they did against us, I reckon they'll get Europe this year.

That I don't agree with. Me being Swedish, I hope you're right and I wrong. But I suspect I might have watched him a bit more than the average football fan, and I don't see him as ever becoming better than let's say Richarlison for example. I would not give him the epithet Top drawer.

Interesting take. Got a few Swedish mates who rate Isaak as a talented, but raw & inconsistent player. Of course every Swede will want to compare the next big Sweden starlet with Zlatan. Its been happening for years & I even remember our very own John Guidetti back in the days being all the rage with the Swedish folk.

We signed another Swedish kid with an unpronounceable name whose youth numbers were compared favourably with Ibrahimovic. Not many go on to those heights. I’d guess the previous poster’s Richarlison comparison is pretty accurate but he’ll have to improve to get there, which he may well do as Newcastle sign better players.
 
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly on the verge of signing for Sporting Lisbon. The deal is 99% done.

The club will begin presentation preparations tomorrow.
