£87 million laughably, according to the media.

Have they? Zubimendi is a direct replacement for partey, imo partey is the better playing and no guarantee he slots straight in.

Gyokeres is an enormous gamble, he may well turn out to be a great signing but right now there's just as much chance he's the new darwin nunez and they want to ship him out again in 12 months time. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Havertz is still their first choice striker.

Eze is a good player, is he better than Martinelli? Don't think that's definitive either way, minor improvement at best but adds good squad depth if its an addition and not a replacement. although, is he anything but a rumour at present?
Would have thought that Zubimendi is an upgrade Gyokeres might fail but people seem to rave about him and having him is better than not

Then Eze better than Martinelli even if only minor

You could say that about any of our signings in the past though, or even the ones we've brought in from other leagues in the last 6 months.

Aguero, David Silva, De Bruyne, Haaland, Rodri. All players who came from other leagues and were no guarantees. There's no guarantee about any player, but for sure Zubimendi looks a much better footballer than Partey and Gyokeres a much better option than Havertz.

That is true but it's amplified with gyokeres given his club history and the fact hes now 27 years old, feels like a massive gamble for anybody wanting him.

I'm not sure what you're judging zubimendi being a much better footballer than partey on, partey is a very good holding midfielder, got the experience and physicality for this league, he just had injury problems. I've seen nothing from zubimendi to suggest hes any better and certainly not, much better.

Crazy money that. To think we got Cherki and Ait Nouri together for almost what Newcastle are paying for Elanga is mental.
Not crazy compared to prices being mentioned for Livaremento and the actual deal for quansah.

Elanga is HG a full international had 6 goals and 11 assists last season. He is also fastest player in the player in the PL. You cannot teach pace.

As the existence of many many sprinting coaches in the world shows, you can very much teach pace :-)

Micky van de Ven was clocked the fastest player in the league last season, with surprisingly our own Nunes second. Elanga was 5th fastest.

Is he? Thought it was Van der Ven and then Nunes

Well...within reason. They can't make me run like Kyle Walker. They can probably help insanely talented sprinters shave tenths of a second off their PBs though, which is marginal stuff when considering how pace is used in football.
