General UFC thread

Totally agree, but I don't think anyone can say McGregor did anything wrong in-ring. 'Superior' Khabib stooped to an illegal move, and his entourage stooped to McGregor's level post-fight.

Trouble with all this is that UFC attempts to pass itself off as legitimate sport, that should command respect from competitors, to competitors - this circus part makes it no better than WWE, which at least acknowledges that it's all acting for entertainment.
McGregor did several illegal moves like a knee on the ground and wrapping his toes in the fence. Herb Dean warned him twice so not quite sure what your point is? Both were at it

Conor only has himself to blame. Why is it ok for him to totally disrespect khabibs country, father, religion etc? Some people that s**t to heart and just because there’s freedom of speech doesn’t mean there’s no consequences.

Unsurprising result really. Ferguson looks a trickier customer for Khabib for me, harder to get a hold of & much more dangerous on the ground. Hopefully happens 5th time lucky.

McGregor was just hoping to connect with a single blow early in the first couple of rounds & after that was out of ideas. Don't see the point in a rematch.

If it was the 70's,Dickie Davies would be presenting.

The trouble with the ufc is it’s let one guy do whatever he wants for years. McG has berated his opponents, been allowed throw objects at crowds and fighters, insult race, religion and promote his products. Even been allowed to not defend a belt and get immediate title shots he’s not earned and make a fortune because of it.

It’s manifested to the point of hatred and that’s what we saw here. They’ve let him be a bully and eventually with all bullies eventually a bigger harder one bullies them back. The ufc created this!

A striker like Conor relies on timing and two years on the sidelines will definitely have affected this. Haven’t a clue whether it would affect the result of a rematch but his timing will be a lot better if they fight again soon

Lol at the internet warriors calling Makhachev a shithouse, you wouldn’t do it to his face girls.

Khabib and his team acted like serious professional men would in this situation. Respected the contest, kept a cool head and won the fight in the ring without letting all of conor’s pre fight nonsense affect them and then deal with all the bullshit.

Total respect to those guys
Respect?

Did you look up the word in the dictionary?

I have seen plenty of bad losers, probably a few at ringside, but bad winners??? Disgusting to hop out of the octagon to fight in the crowd, and just as disgusting to jump into the octagon to sucker punch someone who just got choked out.

The ONLY respect to come from this bullshit was McGregor not pressing charges....and I don’t like him AT ALL!
