General UFC thread

He could handle the difference. Kept his cool sensationally well when he needed to. And when he didn’t need to he and his team sought payback.

If team Khabib did this every time I’d agree they were in the wrong but this was an isolated example and the recipient was a guy who’s built his fortune as much on his beyond the pale trash talking as on his wonderful fighting abilities.

These guys think differently to you and me, they don’t seek justice in the courts or in fines from governing bodies, they seek it man to man and if in their eyes a man has offended their honour there are repercussions
“Man to man” IN THE OCTAGON, not in the crowd, or hopping in after a fight when the target is already gassed and attacking him from behind.

I agree, they think differently, but that doesn’t excuse GBH. If it did people would be dropping all over the place!

Maybe everyone should just bring a big entourage full of muscle and fuck everyone up after every fight?

No excuse, much as you try to find one. None.

UFC already said the two stablemates are out of UFC, so it will be interesting to see what happens to his $2M purse. McGregor already had his $3M released. Surprised it was so little, tbh.

Additionally, it will be interesting to see what the Nevada Commission has to say about licensing any of the three.

No problem, take the rematch to Dagestan, see how brave Danis is over there.

I think you’d also see a more restrained approach from Conor at any Dagestan based weigh ins and pressers thus avoiding the need for retribution.

Lol at the internet warriors calling Makhachev a shithouse, you wouldn’t do it to his face girls.

Khabib and his team acted like serious professional men would in this situation. Respected the contest, kept a cool head and won the fight in the ring without letting all of conor’s pre fight nonsense affect them and then deal with all the bullshit.

Total respect to those guys

Respect? Leaping into the crowd whilst a few more attack the ring. Respect?

A professional would ignore the abuse, take it, safe in the knowledge that has won the fight. No need for anything else.

Nothing but a pair of cunts.

Not sure khabib is in the same level of bellend as mcgregor.

I take it you haven't seen the vid of KN throwing money at a homeless guy to make him dance...?

He's a big bell, fella.

Totally agree, but I don't think anyone can say McGregor did anything wrong in-ring. 'Superior' Khabib stooped to an illegal move, and his entourage stooped to McGregor's level post-fight.

Trouble with all this is that UFC attempts to pass itself off as legitimate sport, that should command respect from competitors, to competitors - this circus part makes it no better than WWE, which at least acknowledges that it's all acting for entertainment.

That 'illegal move' you keep spouting is called a 'face crank'. It's down to positioning and if you can get a choke hold or not. Face crank is the next best option.

Unsurprising result really. Ferguson looks a trickier customer for Khabib for me, harder to get a hold of & much more dangerous on the ground. Hopefully happens 5th time lucky.

McGregor was just hoping to connect with a single blow early in the first couple of rounds & after that was out of ideas. Don't see the point in a rematch.

Agreed, but this reminds me of the Diaz fight where McGregor had to taste the measure of the opponent, before eking out the win on a rematch. McGregor held his head too high in that match, too and got clocked.

Same exact thing, but now he knows KN can't knock him out.

Read up on the background cupcake. These are serious fighting men who’ve taken shit for weeks and weeks from Conor and his team. This builds up inside and after maintaining their focus until the job was done the anger explodes and it was time to confront those who thought they could insult a mans family and religion without any consequences.

You might think their behaviour is Neanderthal, I think they’re men of honour

Are they gangsters or professional people?

'Men of honour'!!

Honour would leave that sh*t in the ring.

I think they’re men of honour

The fact you think a punch from behind is 'honourable' or 'man to man' says more about you than anything else.

Well I don't profess to be an expert on this, unlike you, who seems to be an expert on pretty much everything. But the on-screen graphic called it a neck crank, and a quick visit to wikipedia highlights it as illegal...but you know best.

I have been googling the Russian guy. He was wrestling bears before the age of 9. Like you do.

Can’t stand the irish gobshite.

Rematch my arse.

Folks criticising Khabib for jumping out of the octagon whilst themselves pissing into the octagon - then proclaiming themselves as saints?
