To be fair to him, he's always fought the best around at the time. Mendez, Also, Khabib etc not to mention going up in weight. Also if there's one thing he's not desperate for its most definitely money.

If he is to retire he's probably thinking that hes got more money than he could ever spend, his family is growing, his businesses are thriving and he's been a 2 weight world champion. Do I really want to be getting smacked in the face and doing 12 week camps away from my family anymore when ive pretty much achieved more than most will ever dream of....

He's had a good run but Mendes had a 2 week camp to face him, Aldo got caught but his fights after that have shown he was on a somewhat decline, he got Max before he was the guy he is now, fought Nate who was always a good fighter but not world class, Alvarez was tailor made for Conor too and he never fought Ferguson. No doubt though that he's a brilliant fighter, but the time is now to prove yourself, the level of competition has gone up and he's still at a perfect fighting age, but you can totally appreciate the desire to get in a fight is less when you really don't need to.
 
Martyn Ford has signed with KSW. Will be fun watching that fella get stuck in. Probably get chinned by a shit hot fighter but on the off chance he connects once... i want to see a mans head explode from a single punch.
