General UFC thread

Just letting people know that the UFC London Fight Night tomorrow can be seen on BT Sport 1 and also Channel 5.

Not sure if the Channel 5 deal is just for the events in Europe?

UFC Fight Night London from o2 arena is on tonight on BT Sport from 7pm and Channel 5 at 9pm.

For me, it's the Welterweight that is the most exciting at the mo. Hendricks vs Lawlwer is anybody's guess, but having seen Robbie Lawler enter the stage at the beginning of his career, disappear and come back, looking just as devastating(if not better), I gotta side with him.

He's like the last link to the start of the rise of the UFC... and he's only 31!!

Conduit and Woodley looks like a banger too!! So pumped for this whole fight event!!

Roll on March 15th!!

Agreed, can't wait.

Has fight of the year written all over it. Hope Hendricks wins just because of how we was robbed of the title last year.

The crowd are shit, constant booing even though it isn't a bad fight so far.

I guess because with that fight expectations were high. They both usually end fights quickly but this time stood in front of each other and did next to nothing.

how bad is that english guy talking to forrest griffin lol

I'm watching on fightpass but is it Mark Pougatch or something on Channel 5? He's terrible I hear.

Not surprising, at all, the win for Gustaffson. Although he was there for the taking, Manuwa seemed scared to get in too close or maybe was too respectful of his opponent's ranking. Having seen Manuwa fight on previous occasions, it struck me how upright he is as a fighter, with his main feature being to fight through what his opponents throw.

Glad Alexander G knocked him out as it will force JM to reassess his approach to stand up. How do you not figure two hands clasped around the back of your neck doesn't equal a knee strike?? Tough guy decides to block with his face.

Awesome thinking, Manuwa...

Jimi was on the backfoot from the start, should have taken the fight to Gus.

Well at least Gus gets the title shot.

Here's the thing, I want Texeira to win but I also want the rematch between Jones and Gus.

Gif of the knockout by Gus last night.

both the top card fights were quality last night, although i do think melvin was a bit too defensive

the takedown and knee by the mauler was awesome....poster boy is just not ready yet for the title shot.....the irony is he turned down several lower card fights to get a shot at the title

gotta love the fact that forrest griffin said both these guys would have taken him out in his prime though.....ufc has advanced

Forrest is being kind, believe me. At his best, brief though it was, Forrest Griffin was one tough mofo.

i think he was talking about conditioning and stamina rather than fighting technique
