General Videogame Thread

Yeah, love Forza. I have only played the early ones where it wasn’t an open world, so looking forward to trying Horizon 4 on game pass.

So is game pass basically a way they try to get you to buy the games? You get hooked on a game, they take it away and you then have to pay for it? That is a little bit off putting if it’s like that. Does every single game on it get taken away at some point? Or are some permanent fixtures?

Horizon is great fun, just don't approach it like the 'proper' Forza ones. The racing in Horizon is more brute force than finesse!

:) I've not long been playing it tbh it's madness as it gets dark I'd like it a lot more with a second player co-op

Night time is horrible. You will reach a point where those night zombies are only a little more threatening than day zombies eventually - but until then....

I actually have been known to just find somewhere to hide at night so I can get the bonus points but avoid the chase where possible.

Hiding haha I couldn't even get out of the safe building at one point without dying, two of the stronger zombies that glow up were waiting at the door lmao

Yeah and all these games will be day one on game pass.

You pay £10.99 and month for game pass on Xbox and PC and you will get the new Elder Scrolls game day one. On PS4/5 you will have to pay £60/70 to play it day one.

Game pass is crazy value for money now and next month EA play joins it then the entire back catalogue of ZeniMax studio games plus day one release of their new games as they are now owned by Microsoft.

Now imagine those rumours are true about Microsoft buying Sega. That would be insane.

There are currently around 15 million subscribers to game pass so that's around £120-140M a MONTH Microsoft are getting just off that
I’m thinking if binning the ps5 due to this game pass thing it looks great value for money

Depends how deep you are into the Sony ecosystem and if if you want to switch all your games. There's no doubting Sony have had the better exclusives but I hat potentially could change now.

For me i love game pass. For £10.99 I get game pass for Xbox and PC plus Xbox live.

ALL first party MS games and studios which are owned by them are on game pass day one so The Outer World's and Wasteland 3 were on game pass day one. There's about 160 games on game pass currently and there's everything for everyone. From indie games to AAA games like The Witcher 3 Monster Hunter World, Destiny 2 with all its expansions.

Plus the entire back catalogue of Bethesda produced or published games(Like fallout, the Elder Scrolls, prey) will be on game pass soon and that's started today with Doom Eternal.

Games are taken off but MS give you notice and will offer discounts on the games which are leaving.

Also EA Play is going to game pass next month so there another 80 games going to game pass.

In the next 6 months they'll be close to 300 on there

That is a big console! Think I may wait for a "slim" version they always release and until a few teething issues get ironed out.

A couple of wow players on here I think?

Correct decision.

Anyone played Fallen Order? I'm on my 3rd planet and just not enjoying it anywhere near as much as I thought. I'm a massive Star Wars fan and I really wanna enjoy it. But...

It's a very poor man's Witcher 3. The fighting is not fluid like Witcher 3 and you often find yourself dead when the environment starts lagging, the screens flickers or your frame rate seems to drop. It's so clunky and jittery its painful. I have a top spec system and its not rig performance related. Seems to be a generic thing. The lag between me pressing keys and the actions being performed is horrifically slow. Unlike the Witcher 3 it sorely misses the fluidity and speed to be such a game. I enjoy a challenge and understand the defensive aspect of this, but its ruined by bad gameplay. Then I have to start and rerun for 30 mins enemies I've already defeated.

On the instances where it runs smooth it can be delightful. But soon I'll run into a fight and im just not getting those instant movements that I want. Shame.

The only gripe I had with it was that the story felt a bit short. Oddly enough I didn’t have any screen flickers/fps issues and I played it at launch.

I honestly don’t think anything will ever get remotely close to Witcher 3. The AC series has been trying for years now and still can’t touch it. Surprised to hear someone praise the combat system from The Witcher series as that was the only area I ever heard complaints about.
