General Videogame Thread

Will be interested to see how it progresses, the good thing is as technology keeps progressing so rapidly the trickle down effect speeds up for tight gits like myself :D
Those changes are just current RTX vs GTX too, and that means the tensor cores in the RTX cards are almost disabled. I can't wait to see how the deep learning tensor cores improve rendering.

They really should start delivering the day before release then, allowing us to get it installed and patched before playing on 'release' day.

Seems like a card between the 1050ti and the 1060 power wise, seems like there's more value in the used market for GPUs right now
I think it's some way behind the 1060 judging by the userbenchmarks. You might get a used R9 290 around the £100 on ebay.

Better yet I saw some R9 390s for around £130, not sure which brand or the location of them but that seems a great price if you have no card.

Starting to turn my attention towards the Rx 570. You can pick one up used with a 2 year warranty for £135 from cex and in some cases it outperforms a 1060 3GB. I think the R9 390 is a bit power hungry from my memory
That said I saw the 8GB version of this card on sale for £160 on scan today, a fantastic deal for anyone who wants a card new.

Similar performance to the R9 390(390 seems to edge it for FPS on most games by the looks of it) but a good price for brand new for sure.

Yeah but the R9 390 is a massive power hog in comparison.
The R9 390 is around 245w TDP
The Rx 570 is around 122w TDP

Both cards perform fairly similarly but the RX 570 is newer and more power efficient

Yeah that's the main reason I wanted to switch from my r9 280, have AMD gone more power efficient these days or is it much the same?
