Anyone recommend a good open world rpg on ps5? Played Skyrim to death, red dead, Elden ring, tried with cyberpunk but struggled to get into it. Is ff16 any good?

Dont really enjoy games that are supposed rpgs and open world but just constant cut scenes and forcing you this way or that. Enjoy the pure open world games.

Assassins creed Origins Odyssey and Valhalla are all decent, especially the dlc.

For super cheap, Immortals Fenix Rising is pretty good. Have seen it at The Game Collection for about £4 new recently.

I've picked up Horizon Forbidden West again recently, huge maps with lots of variations but story driven, so there is quite a bit of talking too.

For semi open world Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars Fallen Order are great.

I'd also suggest trying Sniper Elite 4 or 5, again the first is on offer quite regularly for around a tenner with dlc included, the maps are not truly open world but you can go most places and choose your approach similar to the assassin's creed recent games or hitman.

Not open world but I can also recommend Lost In Random which is on sale on the ps store for about £3 right now. Very Tim Burton-esque. Also on EA Play I believe.

Days gone, semi open world, story driven but not loads and loads of dialogue. Basically ride around on a motorbike killing hoards of zombies. Fucking brilliant 9/10.
Edit: it's PS4 but I believe you get better framerates on ps5
Oh and any of the spider man games. Also brilliant.

My lad (11) is asking for a gaming PC. I know they can cost a fortune but can anyone recommend something I can pick up off the shelf at a reasonable price
When my lad first asked for one my head nearly fell off when I googled what they were and saw prices of upwards of £3000.
I bought one of Very in the end for about £1500. He loves it and a year after buying it he is still never off it. The PS5 got relegated. I will go and have a look for you when the boys wake up to let you know the make and model.

Just picked Sniper Elite 4 for a couple of quid absolute bargain

Fired up Fallout 76 for the first time since launch. I'm very fucking surprised. It's bloody decent.

Can’t wait. Probably be dead before GTA7 comes out lol
This is a 2025 release so I’ve done well if I even make it to the sixth.

Expectation around this is bonkers, though given how good Red Dead Redemption 2 was, it may be justified. Hope all those leaks don’t derail Rockstars timeline.

Same timeline as what I expected. They usually go with an autumn release date to get the biggest sales leading up to Christmas.

I like the new playable characters, this couple seem more sympathetic than the three in V.

Would be good to see the three big cities in one game at one point, but don't think that's gonna happen here.

I'm guessing it's back to liberty city with a big upstate NY area for VII.

I hope we get to see some big towns/small cities in the map as well as Vice City. If it’s just Vice City with a big surrounding area, I feel like it will be a bit to similar to GTA 5.

The trailer looks good though, love the crocodile walking into the shop. I think it will be initially dated for spring 2025 but pushed back to late autumn.

Far too early to talk about 7, but I hope they don’t go to Liberty City again. It’s been done enough times, just make something entirely now, something like Europe or two different Cities from two continents.

Looks great and I loved vice city. However I will never pay for a game on release ever again, and I will never pay full price. Only way to bring prices down is if people stop paying £80 for unfinished work on release. Not saying GTA VI will be that, just that my confidence is completely eroded in quality of games on release.
