Expedition 33 just keeps blowing me away. Don't know about GOTY this could be the GOAT. Never ever got emotional during a game but fuck me I had to walk off for a couple of minutes and have a breather. Fucking hell

I've just finished act 1 and I'm stunned!

My exact reaction when I read it on X. Those knobs at take two have been saying for months it’s on track and out of nowhere it’s delayed by more than a year!
I wonder if there's a specific reason, i.e. it was on track but it has now been recognised that there is more that they can do with it, due to recent technological advancements, so they're adding new content/features that weren't part of the original plan? This is pure speculation on my part but I'm thinking this way as a whole year is a long time to delay it by.

Also, I'd much rather a developer takes their time to get a game right, rather than rush it out.

I gave expedition 33 and Oblivion about an hours worth of my time, 33 looks great if you're into Japanese style art and final fantasy style fighting but it didn't grab me - as for Oblivion, it had age old memories attached to it but nothing more than tarting it up for money and old people like me reminiscing. Now KCD 2 on the other hand is quite possibly the finest game I've ever played - has to be GOTY, loved stalker 2 and the Witcher stuff but KCD 2 knocks them into a cocked hat, what a game.

Expedition 33 is absolutely incredible. Can't ever remember a game having such a large impact in such a short space of time.

The music, the gameplay, story and voice acting all incredible. Even if turn based games aren't your thing you have to try it.

My GOTY so far by a mile.

They're probably just optimising the fuck out of it; given the hype, it needs to be GOATED on release or it will be considered a flop.

Personally, I think the series is overrated. So I'm not fussed either way.

Personally, I love the way expedition 33 is shoving it in the faces of the big guys, showing that there will always be a demand for turn based. I mean, Chess remains pretty damn popular!

Wonder if Squeenix are wondering if FF XV and others were a missed opportunity, at the very least they have created a hole in the market for a realistic style, turn based RPG by moving the main franchise to more action based games, where they've almost universally become regarded as "not final fantasy" games anymore and blend in with everything from anime capitalisation grabs to western RPGs and even assassin's creed.

Not to say turn based games have suffered at all in the past few years, but most of the best ones have undoubtedly been indie and that trend will probably continue. Where expedition 33 differs is that it gets so much right, the graphics grab attention the story is engaging, the prologue pulls at your heart strings and the battle system gives you choice whilst still demanding you actually think rather than button mash.

My Psy Plus lapsed a couple of days ago, but thanks to expedition 33 I didn't actually notice until just now.

And it only gets better and better! Genuinely the best game I’ve ever played in my life.

How's everyone playing this? Don't know whether to do pc or ps5

Has anyone played Manor Lords? My daughters just got a new pc so I’ve got her old one. We’ve got game pass ultimate and it’s on there and wondering whether it’s worth a go. Any other recommendations for good games on gamepass would be very welcome too :)

I’m late to KCD. The second game looked class so decided to download the 1st game to see if I could get into it and the answer is a resounding yes. The gameplay, dialogue, world created is brilliant. Iv only started this journey so early on yet. Those lock picks are bit of a nightmare tho. Hopefully it’s easier as I level up.

Great game but still a work in progress. I need to revisit actually and see what they've added since last time I played it.

With ultimate you also get EA which has the command and conquer series too, and FTL which is a banger.

I thought the same when I started, it's about learning, read books and find people who can teach specific skills or spam them and you'll get better at everything. It's just a beautiful game with a great story, I started with kcd2, finished it then started KCD 1 while doing a hard-core run on kcd 2. Worth every penny with dlcs coming.
