General Videogame Thread

True. At least they made no man's sky pretty fucking decent eventually. Mr Murray has learned a lot from that.

Weird time that wasn't it. Their problem was that they were a tiny indie studio with barely any staff and they suddenly got AAA studio level hype. Was never gonna end well at the time. They just needed loads of time, like most AAA games get.

Really looking forward to Cyberpunk 2077. Think the only letdown will be for people who try to play it as a FPS or like GTA. It’s a role-playing game first and foremost. Personally, I can’t wait.

I'm not normally a pre orderer but I was tempted for this. The only thing that stopped me is the fact that it is first person, me and first person games don't get along very well.

It may be one that I just have to watch others play unfortunately. Can't understand why after the success of witcher 3, in third person, CDPR chose first person only for Cyberpunk.

I think first-person could make the game even more immersive when compared to the Witcher. I could be wrong but I really see Cyberpunk having a similar impact for this generation as the original Deus Ex did 20 years ago. Hopefully it does as that was a groundbreaking game and one of my favourites for a long time.

One is a small patch for accessibility and optimization. The second one is for bug fixes.

Don't forgot the game went gold in mid octiso digital copies have been printed since then so I would imagine CDPR have been still working on the game for the last 2 months so a day one patch was expected.

To be fair to CDPR they are one of the few developers/publisher who listen to the fans.

The Witcher 3 was pretty buggy when it was released they were really quick to fix it
I first played Witcher 3 about 6 months after launch, before coming back to do it properly after another 6 months....the difference between what I played at the beginning (1.18 or something) and the refinement of the final version 1.31 was pretty noticable. Even then, it had plenty of little bugs. The bookshop owner hovering 3 feet above the air. One quest that just wouldn't work. A scene where all the witchers get up from the table after a meeting, and walk off in different directions, except the all walked in the opposite direction they were supposed to, climbing straight over the table and bumping into each other.

Still, I dunno if I'm going to be waiting for Cyberpunk. Nah. Day one for me.

So I somehow got a PS5 from a local Walmart after days of constant search. I have been xbox before but I am finding a little bit difficult with the controls. I have a question for those who use PS. How can I add a new controller? Do I have to create an account for every controller I add? Also, how can I switch off my console using my controller? For xbox, if I held down the "X" button I would get options of switching off either the console or the controller? How do I do that for PS5?
