General Videogame Thread

In all honesty, i think the games so far for the next gen consoles overall have been pretty abysmal. Some ok games that look good like R&C, miles morales etc, but content is pretty thin on the ground and nothing that really blows you away. CP 2077 was the one i was looking forward to before i got my ps5 and i just havent bothered as it looks so bad. All i've really done so far is play ps4 games on the ps5 and thats very disappointing.

i agree to an extent on this, however some of the ps4 games that have the ps5 upgrades have been superb in terms of gameplay etc.

I have noticed i am spending more time using my PS5 for watching stuff or just Warzone :/

Yeah ive been playing a lot more warzone recently and actually doing quite a bit better. I even manage a few kills now and even though im still mostly cannon fodder, i have got a game plan now.

Horizon Zero Dawn has had a PS5 patch. solid 60fps 4K. Digital foundry did a review of it and it dropped ot 59fps for 1 frame. cant get better than that!

I'm not sure the game was ever riddled with cheaters as some suggest but it has been an issue and they have launched a few things into it recently to help. They have also put out a lot of variations of the game where you can re spawn and playing those levels it up a bit and is good practice for people like me who are just fodder.

Been offered this build for £1,100 out here. General thoughts?

It's a bit overpriced, if you can build your own PC you could easily get those parts for £300 less.

But if you can't or haven't got the time or inclination as ready made systems go I have seen worse.

The devil is in the detail here, it doesn't have an NVME drive it has an SSD, the board is a B450 you should at least be getting a B550 for that price the parts are probably used whereas you could buy new parts for less.

Ok thanks for that bud.

would this also be overpriced then at £2k?

I think I’m obviously going to have to over pay a bit based on where I live and what’s available

I don’t mind if I’m within 10% of what you’d spend in the U.K. but I don’t want to be bent over.

I also believe the above would be future proofed for atleast 4-5 years.
