General Videogame Thread

Yeah I suppose if you have the money there's no point penny pinching if you think it's a good deal.

Wouldn't mind one of these actually:

Wow!

I have a 35" curved monitor and the usual PC gubbins...that would save a load of space. I expect it gets very hot. And is a bit noisy.

Finally got around to giving Metal Gear Solid 5 a proper go after everyone raved about it so much, but I have to say it might be the most mind numbingly repetitive game I've ever played. I'm only about 4% complete and I've already had to go to the same places and do the same things about 3 times already. Every mission is essentially the same and it doesn't really have any of the tactics that previous MGS games forced on you with the tight indoor setting.Story seems pretty thin on the ground as well.

Does it get any less dull or am I going to be sneaking into the same camps and exfiltrating people repeatedly for the rest of the game?

After the build up it had leading up to it for years it was a big disappointment I didn't even finish it got that bored.

Been playing the For Honor beta and it's a pretty fun game. Very skill based though. Sometimes you just get destroyed by better players.

Thought exactly the same, MGS and open world just don't mix well. Lost the story and intrigue of previous years, I made it to the Africa missions which were slightly more enjoyable due to a more diverse environment but then got bored . . . Also, load times between missions etc were a real pain.

Got bored and stopped MGS5 as its just no fun. Managed to find a place that lets you download Myth 1&2 for free and they actually work as well, much better, one of the best games ever made. Just a shame that Bungie stopped making them to concentrate on generic space shooters instead

Resident Evil 7 is good.

Gone down the first person atmospheric horror (like Alien: Isolation), I'm up to a part where there is these (slug?) men and it's just pissing me off, as you can't get a clear head shot (ammo is sparse so head shots are vital) because they stumble around as if they were pissed up, so I've stopped playing it because I was near to punching a hole through my monitor!

You like it? I found it dull, repetitive and horribly linear.

I think there needs to be a lot more content when it's realised and i think theres gonna be a single player campaign with it but I appreciate games that reward skill and this game especially when you get 1v1 with another player it's all about who is the better player.
