General Videogame Thread

Should put most of points into vigor early in the game weapons improve on upgrading them more than there attributes not is costing me around 28k per upgrade might use my last lavar tear.

Finished it and got the platinum trophy last night. The last boss can get fucked. I'll refrain from details to avoid potential spoilers but if you're a melee build, you'll spend about a minute trying to get within striking range only for it to move after maybe 2 hits if you're lucky and then you have to spend another minute chasing it down again and all whilst it spams 1 hit kill attacks at you, with one in particular being almost impossible to dodge. And when you do get in striking range, you can't even see what the enemy is about to do to avoid the attack because its so big, you basically have to guess from its belly and sound cues. I had played the entire game melee, I had to go and respec into magic something I had completely avoided before the last boss just to beat it. because it makes you respec every point before continuing and given I hadn't touched magic I wasn't sure exactly what I'd need, I hadn't put enough into mind so needed to grind further to get what I needed and then I had to upgrade all my stuff too which wasn't cheap.

The second half of the game, I'd say everything after you open up the map past carian manor was really tarnished for me by the fact you either kill everything within seconds without taking a hit or you're dead in a 2 hit combo, there's no middle ground and that applied to both regular enemies and bosses. It's still a brilliant game but I think it's got a big balancing issue that's gone largely unmentioned.

Last update they improved the crafting potency because the game is not just about weapons it’s about using every option. Am probably halfway through the game and I’ve used everything the bow a lot ice axe pyromancer ability blood now moving into using magic spells.

You did very well getting to the final boss with just Melee you way through it.

That's a fair point, I never bother with the majority of my inventory in souls games, other than crafting arrows and using the lantern I ignored most other stuff, I didn't even use the great rune feature once. I don't think non-use of those things would have impacted the balancing issues I've had though, I stuck about 50-60 levels into hp aswell as wearing some of the best armour and was still getting 1-2 hit killed.

Watching some really good soul gamers they don’t use a shield they read the moves and dodge at the right time.

I use range dodge shield not one for a massive sword or lance.

Well, finally finished the mass effect legendary edition. Can honestly say it’s become one of my favourite games of all time. Started Andromeda but was reserved after seeing some of the reviews, after a few hours in I do understand why many disliked it. Finding myself indifferent to the characters compared to those in the originals. Shame as the customisation looks pretty decent.
