General Videogame Thread

Seeing this very, very much right now. I'm level 78 and have been doing well in most of the game with a bleed katana, not gone for any magic or anything and it seems to be the case that even minibosses are turning into a graft.
Maybe it's just that style as we had very similar builds. I went pure samurai throughout with the extra long katana until the last boss forced a respec, doing damage wasn't an issue for me except for a few enemies who would be resistant but that's to be expected, I could wreck bosses and minibosses so quickly but despite the fact I had pumped in around half my points into hp I still felt like a glass cannon, one wrong move against many enemies and I found myself stun locked into a short combo there was no getting out of and I was just dead.

The standard revenant enemy was the one that brought me most trouble, that thing teleport to you and just does not stop attacking, ever. you can't block and you can only dodge so many attacks before your stamina is drained, if I didn't get the leap on them and bleed and break their poise with strong attacks before they got a chance to attack I was dead. Flawless or dead, no inbetween.

After struggling for so long with Magrit, soon got onto Godrick and found that quite easy in comparison. I'm 70 hours plus in and most of that has just been spent wandering and exploring, but it really is an enormous game.

Nice little set up that. Ultrawide looks fucking great with sims and stuff.

Next purchase for me is a CS Flightstick Pro. Used to sell these as a young lad - they've brought them back due to popular demand, the accuracy and smooth, even feel of the mechanism is phenomenal, I reckon they're still worth every penny.

Been playing quite a bit of Kerbal Space Program, had me hooting like a 12 year old let loose in a science laboratory full of lego that you can use to make jet planes and rockets. Took me two weeks to build something that could fulfil my dream of being able to take off from a runway to smashing straight into the moon. Achieved it last night, using the least amount of mathematics possible, at which point I was overcome by a great feeling of emptiness. What was the point in that little display? Tried watching TV but found myself totally disinterested, and sloped off to bed immediately. Woke up and reached for the orbital mechanics textbook and decided I should set my sights higher, maybe actually orbit the damn thing, set up some satellites and bases, do some science.

I'm seriously looking at Reentry, which is described as DCS for historical Space Programs.

Also about to check out Orbiter 2016, an impressive open source sim available for free, being the project of an a research fellow at our own UCL.

My simpit is (very) slowly taking shape. Now I just wish I wasn’t so crap at DCS itself.

You are the terrorist who controls the drones in 24 from his bedroom aren't you.

I'm slightly jealous. Looks amazing.
