General Videogame Thread

On full sim mode it’s realistic and I do mean, realistic modelling every single flight and weapons system.

Im hundreds of hours into the sim and still a relative amateur compared to some.

Check videos of ex A-10 and F-18 pilots etc who play this and say just how incredibly real it is.

Warning as well, this game is a money pit. I’ve spent over £600 on my HOTAS and rudder peddles and built a £2k plus rig to play it on lol.

I shudder to think how much I've spent on my sim racing setup in total.

What sim racing games you play

F1 mainly with ACC/modded AC if I want to use the manual shifter, and iRacing VERY occasionally if a friend organises things.

Don't worry, I'm crap. Its like what retired guys do with golf - I'm not quick and I know it but I enjoy the taking part and the community aspect.

There's a big F1 league for example and I was midtable in Division 6 which is the "aww bless" level. It's pretty humbling as a hobby though; I always considered myself a driver that wasn't awfully slow but you get online with these guys and they effortlessly blow you out of the water. These e-sports guys who are going pro in F1 are literally ridiculously quick.

I’m pretty shocking but I find it fun

Just had a quick dabble, trying to land. Crashed about 10 times and managed to land but ended in a field!!! Fuck me it's hard.

Stick at it, spend hundreds if not thousands of hours at it whilst spending £hundreds if not £thousands trying and you are still a bit shit lol.

Watch some of the big boys on YouTube they are incredible ;-)

Ha ha, didn't help that the fucker was speaking Russian. I suppose it helps if you read the instructions first and not just press all the keyboard buttons in the hopes something happens. :)

Yes, read, read and read them a thousand times and you might just get a basic grasp of the flight and weapons systems and then spunk the money on a HOTAS because a keyboard is practically useless.

Elden Ring really has blown my mind. Yes it’s so hard and god knows how far I’ve still got to go, but the fact I’m over 100 hours in and still finding huge areas that are new and really hard to just explore is amazing. It’s frustrating as hell at times, but a wonderful game.

Yep I followed this track to I thought was a cave went in was grace and a massive area!

The area you have to cover just to get to that high plateau is unbelievable you got to down a long massive lift and it’s massive and hard to complete. 120+ hours in and reckon not half way through the game.
