General Videogame Thread

While Ive been laid up I’ve delved into No Mans Sky, bloody hell what a time sink that is, it’s huge and basically a minecraft in space, I’m currently doing the community missions, but bloody hell constantly trying to make things is a nightmare, if I need A I need to do BCDEF and possibly G to get it. I do like it but there is no end game so I don’t know how long I’ll do it for, I think I’m just going to try to get to the middle of the galaxy, could take ages but at least there will be a point to it.

Decided to give FIFA 22 a go as it is part of the May PS Plus offer. Played a few games , and will be deleting it.

I haven't played a FIFA game since 16, what on earth happened to it? Slow gameplay, and so unrealistic. I mean, Kyle walker isn't getting done for pace by many people, yet in the game he won't even break into a run and everyone just sails by. Same for any of the human controlled players.

The game always selects the wrong pass, at first I thought it was me but no, it happily puts a ball into space rather than passing to the nearby teammate when I tap x.

Shooting, if you build up any power at all then it's sailing over, and the AI has every team playing the same, like 1970s Brazil, with never a misplaced pass. The only difference I can see between difficulty is that if you bump it up the AI's shots go in rather than wide, the actual build up and retaining possession is the same.

Utter tosh. Off it goes before I mistakenly earn a trophy and it sits there on my profile for eternity.
I did the same as eFootball 2022 (I’m a big PES fan) is horrendous even after the latest update.

Gone back to Metal Gear Solid 5. Every now and then I'll get an itch for that sort of game. Used to love Splinter Cell growing up but they don't seem to be made anymore.

Brilliant game. Loved all the different ways of approaching the missions, the build up of your base, your army etc.

Also on a technical level it looked lovely and also ran at a smooth 60fps on the consoles.

Probably my game of the generation thinking about it.

I'm struggling to get higher ranks for my missions as I start to become a bit impatient towards the end, get spotted and it all turns into a gunfight. Very satisfying when you get it right though.

I thought that was the end state anyway to get to the centre?
