General Videogame Thread

I've bitten the bullet and purchased RDR2, currently loading and 73 minutes left. Really looking forward to this.

Picked up 2 titles on sale today. Kerbal Space Program and Planet Coaster.
Got them both for £12, still can't get over how cheap pc games are.

LET ARTHUR RUN IN THE CAMP!!!!
Yeah, would be nice! Suppose it is to stop you whacking into your pals at full pelt, but for me means I avoid camp now if at all possible.

Finding the controls annoying in general though. Already shot a poor lass when I was prompted to press R2 to aim my gun at her, instead Arthur just filled her full of lead in the true America style of 'shoot first, ask questions later', and I seem to have to shuffle around places toget things to highlight to pickup, so nice of them to include a mini game of All American Truck Parking for picking up tins of beans.

Plus I find the tracking trails a bit pointless, the lines are so faint that I have no idea if i'm following them, but that may be because for some odd reason I had to turn the brightness right up on my Bravia to even see the Rockstar logo before starting up a game. I could also accuse this game of being GTA V in a Stetson.. GTA VI The Wild West Years... Yes, same devs so always going to have that flavour, but the mini map, the icons, the deaths, lifted lazily out of GTA V!

That said, it is a very pretty game and i've not come across any events that really duplicate much, no standard fetch quests or repeating quests, so far at least. Every NPC does seem to be their own character with their own issues, which is quite an acomplishment.

Oh, and a quick tip or two. If you're wanted in an area just accept a mission in that area, for me it seems to reset the bounty on my head back to not wanted. Strolled into Valentine with a $104 warrant on my head after agreeing to some misson and happily chatted in town to the NPCs involved in said mission, finished that up and was left alone too. Also, if you've lost your horse and don't fancy the walk back, throw yourself off a cliff or end it some other way and you regen next to your steed. But I stress, only do this in the game ;)

I have $300 bounty on my head everywhere I go haha. But yes a gold assessment of the game that.

I don't see why so many are aiming at people when they want to talk - why are you walking about with a gun unholstered? I've never pointed my gun at anyone by accident.

I keep killing innocent people, very frustrating as the bounty on my head keeps growing.

Only gripe so far with their being so much to do and so big a map, I’ve totally lost track of what the main storyline is.
