Intel or Ryzen?

I went Ryzen. Incredible processors and for me, the future with bang for buck second to none. Sure Intel still that bit faster, especially on a flight sim but spending literally £200 more for maybe 10FPS when the Ryzen is giving you over 60FPS anyway on max settings? Either way enjoy :-)

Yeah lookig at the Ryzens

I never use vsync on any flight sim. Does fuck all other than introduce stutters. Let it run at whatever it can i say. MSFS 2020 is simply stunning. Im getting a constant 60FPS plus with a mixture of ultra and high settings.

What is the refresh rate of your monitor?

Zen 3 about to hit so maybe hold back just a while. My Ryzen 5 3600 x is brilliant but I got it on purpose as it was only £200 in May which I won't mind upgrading from when the new zen 3 are out in the next few months. When they do hit the price of a monster Ryzen 9 16 core zen 2 will come down as well. Seriously mate these are impressive CPU's, you won't regret it.

Yeah makes sense to turn v sync off then for sure, makes your monitor run at 60hz, once you go 144 or above you can never go back!

I play Valorant and get like 200fps so gsync is handy stops screen tearing, but on cod I have to turn it off.

I've locked FPS before as many flight Sims claim doing so improves overall performance but for me, it just creates stutters. If you have the hardware just let it perform and do its thing.

Good to know!

In other news I was bored and felt like treating the kids. Me and the wife had been talking how we hated the Xbox for them and the fixation with playing games way above their ages (9) so I went and got a switch with Zelda and Mario Odyssey.

Utterly fantastic, kids loving it, no arguments, lots of laughs and no guns or blood on the screen more importantly.

Same here 9 year old on Fortnite etc on the X Box. She actually said she wanted a Switch. However she also wanted a puppy so we are now spending £1k on a Border Collie. Should I get her the Switch too? (Or is she too spoiled?)

I think the Switch is a great console. Played it to death first 2 years, currently on a renassiance with the Ps4. I do like my classic games. Amongst the PC I have, I also have a WiiU, Master System, Megadrive, Snes, N64 etc.

Those PC Engine mini's look great as well.. the Japanese version at least.

Gave in and got fall guys.

Playing it while my 6 year old son is watching and he thinks the the funniest thing ever watching me fail. Constantly!

It's a great game and once you learn the maps it does get easier but some rounds are just absolute mayhem! Found myself laughing loads.

Just a really fun game to chill out with
I'm absolutely shit at it :) Great game to play with the kids though.
