General Videogame Thread

Looking forward to Starfield but fuck me I would love them to get a move on with TES 6……major withdrawals after playing through Skyrim several times the last 10 years.

Agreed. Visually it looks much more appealing too. The swing mechanics aren't quite the same as I thought they would be which isn't necessarily bad. Tried going back to 2k after but can't get past how bad it looks graphically.


Most 2k titles look so dull to me. If ever its a sports title, I usually go with EA.

Update: There is a rather big flaw at the moment though. The swing speed is an issue and I’ve seen many having the same problem;

Baldur's Gate 3 really starting to get its hooks into me the way the first two did now. Brilliant stuff.

Brilliant isn't it.

I'm 30 hours in and not even finished act one yet.

Not played a game like this in years. Don't think I've ever played a game which gives you so much freedom and choice do tackle quests in any way you want. And the decisions you make actually matter and change characters perception of you and the world changes accordingly

Was doing a main quest before and got sidetracked into doing an optional quest. 3 hours later and I completed it!

I'm already thinking of my next playthough and instead of being a charismatic bard sweet talking my way out of situations I'm going to be a maniac killing everyone.

It's absolutely magnificent

Yeah, I could lose myself for hours in it. 15 hours in and just scratching the surface really.

I think Larian have done a great job of making it feel like a BG game, even though the technology is so advanced from the older games.

Time for a few more hours before bed!

Yes, I’ve given up on Diablo 4 it’s just fucking monotonous, Blizzard have really messed up with this game, awaiting Starfield now in September, kids back to school so that’s me zoning out for hours just hope it lives up to the hype.

PC and PS5 only at the moment.

Xbox release has been delayed indefinitely as Larian are having major issues porting multiplayer on to the Series S due to its memory restrictions. It'll work fine on the Series X but Larian want it to work on both consoles. They've actually got Microsoft in to see if they can help fix the issue

PC only isn't it? I checked PS5 yesterday and I'm sure it wasn't released till September 2nd.

Same. You're just doing the same shit all the time. It's just rinse and repeat. They have promised big changes for season 2 in November so we'll wait and see but I've not got my hopes up. Just glad I'm playing Baldurs Gate 3 and Starfielfyto look forward to

I’m not paying for season 2, they should give it for free after the shit show of one.

Think of the absolute scale TES 6 is going to be. It's gonna take time! My missus plays ESO. Said it's scratching the itch wait for 6
 
Have any of you seen the footage of Unrecord. I have never seen graphics like it ever. They are very clever with it also. The footage is from a bodycam perspective instead of through human eyes which is currently impossible to replicate. Also the human face is incredibly hard to make realistic so they get around that one by pixelating your enemy's faces exactly the same as you see in news footage of graphic situations.

The lighting, textures and assets UE5 offer is pretty amazing. Their lumen (global illumination/ray tracing) is so realistic it is mind boggling.

Not a bad concept if you want to play the PS5 whilst the Mrs or other family members are watching TV in the evening. It is also handy for the kids if you go on holiday somewhere or if they go to a mates house but you'd need a strong WiFi connection.

A bit sly from Sony that there's no Bluetooth capability to make you buy in to their own headphones which are compatible via PS link.

Sony will need to be explicit in their marketing so that parents are aware you need a PS5 for this handheld device.
 
Managed to get Bladurs Gate 3 running on my Xbox.....

Interested to see how it pans out, since that trailer release it seems to have gone quiet, I probably be able to play it for 10 mins before throwing up to be honest. Some FPS just do it to me.
