General Videogame Thread

Should keep any hope of the ES6 well and truely banished. At this rate it will be 20 years between 5 and 6.
I think a third party studio has been working on the remake/remaster of ES4. Bethesda thought 76 would be their big 'Fortniteesque' money spinner and it hasn't worked out that way. This, if it actually WORKS, might bring in a few extra pennies for them, if they have the foresight to make it cross platform.

Downloading now :) never played Oblivion as it was a little outdated for me but absolutely loved Skyrim.

I'm hyped :-)
Got a free copy when I bought my Xbox 360 in 2006! Played it to death for about 2 years then waited for Skyrim.

Played it again in lockdown and it hadn't aged well at all. The graphics, combat and levelling system were a mess however the quest were still brilliant.

Looks like Bethesda and Virtuous have addressed all those issues with combat and the levelling system has been completely overhauled, downloading it now and I cannot wait

Skyrim still remains one of my best ever games spent days exploring lol.

Enjoy Oblivion mate :)

Oblivion remastered just shadowdropped.

It looks absolutely incredible
I still have great memories of leaving the opening jail section and stepping out in to the open world, it blew my mind at the time, it all looked fantastic and had such promise of an open world which is exactly what it gave us.
The only other moment in gaming that came close for me was when you first arrive in Mexico in Red Dead Redemption and the music changes.

Really annoyed that fallout 3 and oblivion are being remastered. Not because of the lack of new ideas in re-hashing new games, not because of the fact that games like Skyrim have been rereleased so many times it's getting pathetic now, but because I know full well I'm probably going to lose most of my free time to them, and just compound the issues of my backlog further.

Particularly fallout 3, that and New Vegas I must have spent over a thousand hours combined on various platforms. I remember being ill when I started Fallout 3 and taking time off work, and literally not seeing sunlight for probably two weeks.

Hmmm, disappointed it's (ES4) a digital release and hope it gets a physical one at a later date, but i'm not holding my breath.

Just broken my own rule and pre ordered Clair Obscure Expedition 33, looks amazing, a compelling non-cutesy story, and I'm not adverse to a turn based battle system. I've justified it as am not renewing ps plus after the end of this month but it's probably only the third or fourth video game I've ever pre ordered.

Anyone playing DayZ?

I dismissed it as just another zombie killing game but one recent night down a youtube rabbit hole i found out I was wrong. Having watched a good few hours of footage i'm thinking of jumping in.

I know how late to the party I am, and to top it all i will be doing it on console so i can have a squad with my lads.

recommend or pants alternatives?

I've been looking forward to this!
