That’s like watching Toy Story 4 and saying it looks mediocre next to Rise of Skywalker because the graphics aren’t as realistic.

Played it loads yesterday and it’s immense. The controls are tight as hell, the track design and world design are top tier and new modes like ‘Knockout Tour’ are absolutely intense as hell.

It’s also fully open world at 60fps / 1440p with 24 racers on at once. Genuinely some of the nicest cartoon style graphics I’ve ever seen in a game - maybe the best.

I'm not too sure what it does that the Steam Deck can't do at a fraction of the cost. Plus the bonus of emulators on the Deck. Maybe I'm missing something, I don't know

It's Xbox. I wouldn't trust them after they way they've mishandled their last two consoles generation.

Plus they sell a 5 years console sans disc drive at £450 whereas Sony can manage the same thing at £330. So god knows how much these things will costs. £600 and £900 maybe?
 
State of play, summer games fest and Xbox showcase were all underwhelming in my opinion.

That's not to say there wasn't anything decent in them but there was a lot of similar looking titles and a shit tonne of online free to play looking games that I've no interest in at all.

Nioh 3 was the standout announcement for me. Jurassic world evolution 3 looked really good, 2 was very good in my opinion. The new drinkbox title looks low key good and that clockwork revolution from inxile was the best Xbox had to offer. not much else worth talking about other than that. Resi 9 was the big one and I like resi but it just doesn't excite me as we knew it was coming.

Unless things changed since Sony said they would never make money on hardware sales and would always take the hit as they make the money on game sales.

Looking at it it seems to be a standard ROG with Xbox branding. So the X is likely to be £799

You'd think they'd (Xbox) would be more prepared to take a loss and then reap it back through Gamepass.

But this is Xbox we're talking about. They've made a string of poor decisions since they released the Kinect way back now.
 
Down to my last 10 gold stickers for my 100% balatro completion. All legendary and rare cards have already been done too so just got 4 uncommon ones and 6 common left.

I should be able to carry them all through just as I've managed the majority of others. The one exception being midas mask as my consistent winning builds have regularly focused on heavy tarot manipulation, I could actively focus a build around it or I could hope to find an early perishable one that I can then carry as a dead joker all the way through, might be a bit tricky but cant see it being too much of an issue.

The end is finally in sight now.
 
Jumped back into football manager 2024, seeming as though there's still no sign of a new game there. Given FM25 was supposed to launch in March and only cancelled in February, I think we're entitled to be a little concerned about the total lack of any footage or features, being that September or October is usually football manager release tim, so we're not far off really.

Found my old save with City where I moved from Tenerife to replace Pep in 2029. Liverpool have just signed Frimpong and Wirtz, weirdly. But they're 10th :)

City signed Bellingham for £258m before I got there, so I have him, Foden and Echeverri behind big Earl, but now have the task of replacing Rodri, Ederson and Dias who are all Saudi bound in the coming summer.
 
Just finished Thank Goodness You're Here

A weird game, but very funny. A simplistic point and click puzzle style game but cartoonish graphics, set in a fictional Barnsley-like town with lots of Monty Python-esque, Fast Show and League of Gentlemen style humour.

Highly recommended if you fancy something different, and by that I mean fishmongers who sell ciggies, meat that guilt trips you, ducks that take issue with parking fees, thing you can all see on your morning shopping trip to Price Shaggers.

 
Sucked back into Warcraft as theyve got a collectors bounty buff, I’m a sucker for mount collecting, anyone who plays knows how to grind for years to get a certain mount it’s depressing, anyway it seems to work I got one of the ones I’ve been after for years within an hour or so, I tend to dip out during summer months from gaming but I couldn’t resist, damn you OCD.

Had 3 blazing drakes from dragon soul, but nothing else. I'm doing the Lich King RP in my sleep!
